"Alien" is the first movie of one of the most popular sagas in science fiction history, and introduces Sigourney Weaver as Ripley, the iron-willed woman destined to battle the galaxy's ultimate creature. The terror begins when the crew of the spaceship Nostromo investigates a transmission from a desolate planet and makes a horrifying discovery, a life form that breeds within a human host. Now the crew must fight not only for its own survival, but for the survival of all mankind.

Cant help but be blown away with the stunning visuals and wish Ridley Scott would do more science fiction.
Yeah the story is a little slow but you are rewarded with an absolute stunning piece of movie making
Poor - showing it's age

Watched this when released in the cinema, since then have bought & watched many times the 3 sequels. Bought this last week to complete the collection but wasted my money - the storyline is slow, the sound track barley audible & the film just doesn't cut it any more.
The 3 sequels are far, far better.
Not The Best...

This film is EXCELLENT. Ridley scott does a great job creating a slice of must-watch cinema. But the film does get quite dull and repetitive towards the middle mark, and then shines on an amazing conclusion that doesn't fail to disapoint! James Camerons military sequel (Aliens) is a far superior piece of sci-fi/horror entertainment.
