In this action-packed sequel to Alien, Sigourney Weaver returns as Ripley, the only survivor from mankind's first encounter with the monstrous Alien. Her account of the Alien and the fate of her crew are received with skepticism, until the mysterious disappearance of colonists on LV-426 lead her to join a team of high-tech colonial marines sent in to investigate. Personally supervised by director James Cameron, this special edition includes scenes eliminated prior to the film's 1986 release which broaden the narrative scope and enrich the emotional impact of the film.

the special edition of this film is just fantastic-not that the original cut had any less impact.the extra footage showing the sulaco and its motley crew of gung-ho soldiers is a treat.the longer pace means a more rounded film with characters you care about.the visual fx are superb and the whole package makes this a worthy successor to alien.sigourney weaver is the heart-and soul-of this film and she comes out as a likeable, stubborn, scared but resolute person who is afraid of neither man or beast.a brilliant sequel that can stand on its own as a cracking piece of entertainment.
