Review

The Bank Job is a highly-charged heist thriller based upon the infamous 1971 robbery that took place at the Lloyds Bank in Marylebone London.

Starring Jason Statham as Terry, a car dealer with a dodgy past and Saffron Burrows as Martine, the woman with the plan, The Bank Job interweaves corruption, murder and scandal with 1970s England!

When Martine offers Terry a lead on a foolproof bank hit on London's Baker Street, he recognizes the opportunity of a lifetime! The plan: to target a roomful of safe deposit boxes worth millions in cash and jewellery. However Terry and his crew don't realize the boxes also contain a treasure trove of dirty secrets - secrets that will thrust them into a deadly web of corruption and illicit scandal that spans London's criminal underworld, the highest echelons of the British government, and the Royal Family itself.

Without Statham in his front role then this film would be a lot poorer, the surrounding cast are weak in their roles and the script seems only partially done, at the end I did'nt really care what had happened to the characters enough, only some good Statham action and a couple of funny parts save it from Jail.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

Jason Statham plays another great lead role as he leads a bunch of criminals into the vault of one of Londons biggest banks in the 1970s. For a film based on a true story it is a classic British gangster movie which will be watched many times by many people. Totally recommendable. Enjoy
