The second season begins four months after the events of Kirby Plaza. Peter Petrelli, Matt Parkman, Nathan Petrelli, and Sylar have all survived the events of the season one finale, and are trying to return to ordinary lives despite their extraordinary abilities, with the exception of Sylar, who is on a quest to regain the use of his abilities.

The main plot arc of "Generations" deals with the Company and its research on the Shanti virus. This research is explored through the Company's founders, whose identities are revealed, as well as through the effects of various strains of the virus on The Haitian, Niki Sanders, Sylar, and others. An amnesiac Peter Petrelli observes the potential devastation of the virus in a future New York City. The "heroes" ultimately come together in an attempt to stop the release of a deadly strain of the virus and avert a global pandemic.

A short rest before season three!!

The story continues with yet another plot to cause chaos and mayhem, and at the same time dig further in to the mysterious lives and past of the characters that are the Heroes. Alas because of the writers strike in the US, the series is only eleven episodes, but still manages to be highly entertaining. Nothing could be as good as season one, but in some ways the slightly slower pace of this season seems to be in order, after the edge of your seat tension in season one. You kind of come away thinking it was a rest before season three! The only thing with Heroes is that you can't miss a single episode. In that way it is ideally viewed from DVD, so you can watch all the episodes back-to-back. But it also means you have to see season one first or you won't have the slightest clue what is going on.

 Not rushed, just perfect!

I have to disagree with con23liam comments about this season of Heroes being "Rushed". This was never the case; due to the writers strike in America (wiki it, it really happened), shooting of season 2 (from episodes 12+) were therefore put on hold.

During this time Tim Kring recived feedback from many fans of the show explaining how, even though season 1 was great, it was dissapointing to see season 2 going the same was with the long drawn out story arcs. Tim Kring, actually listening to the fans, decided to change the shows performance completely, which Is why many people have commented on how much of a difference season 2 is and im sure this will only improved within the comming seasons of the show.

Different? Very much so, in a very good way!

Rushed? Hardly. Worth every hour of your time. BUY THIS SEASON

Im not going to pretend that this a full season because i was savagely disapointed when i found out it was only 12 episodes and that was it. But this is a great 2nd season and 1 that delivers many answers and also many more questions. The edition of new characters was inevitable and i found them most wecolme as this brought more twists to the already great story. The perfect intertwining of the stories always left me wanting more as i couldnt wait for the next episode just like the first season. If you want it to add to your collection maybe wait for a drop in price? Or if you love heroes dont even hesitate in purchasing this!

Not season 1 but still good

This series started off with the same quality as season 1, and got me hooked again. However, shame to say, this was one of the shows heavily affected by the writers strike in the US. The start of the series starts slow and builds just as season 1, but ends up speeding up far too quickly by the conclusion for my liking. I got to episode 10 thinking we were half way through, only to realise there are only 2 episodes to go. It all felt a bit rushed. In effect then this is really only half a series, and expect that season 3 will pick up where this left off. Some great new characters, so looking forward to Season 3

Season 1 gave us lots to enjoy, and it made people come together to enjoy the most talked about new series.
For anyone who hasn't seen the show yet, heroes begins with ordinary people discovering they have great abilities, ranging from flight, mind reading, regeneration and time travel. The heroes then eventually come together to stop an impending doom that threatens to destroy new york city.
Series 2 is very much 'what do you do when the world has been saved?' we start off 4 months after the conclusion of season 1 and we see a new threat coming down on the heroes as well as some questions finally being answered from the season finale.
With only 11 episodes, this season is over very quickly, a lot of story was dragged out too much, the plot wasnt as strong as previous either. But the positives are the new villains that came up in this season (including adam monroe played by david anders) and also all the events that lead us to a chilling finale that gives you so much to look forward to in season 3, which currently is maybe the best season so far.
I recommend buy the first and second seasons of heroes, watch them through and then see season 3. You shall not be disappointed
