Sarah Connor Chronicles surprised me by how well written it is. It's set after Terminator 2 but does reference the third film aswell. The past is altered so in essence the third Terminator film is wiped from existance.
Story is nothing new. Sarah and John Connor are fugitives from the law and aided by a Terminator on their side they are also being hunted by machines sent back to kill them. What the show does really well is expand upon the universe from the films. We get to see glimpses again of the war in the future and learn a little more about John's father Kyle. Other characters from the films also show up which does make it feel like a worthy addition to Terminator mythos.
The first couple of episodes are a little slow but it really does pick up the pace quickly. The biggest complaint I have is that despite a number of different Terminator models running around none of them are as menacing as Arnie or Robert Patrick.
It's a show that looks to be heading in the right direction though and hopefully really finds its feet with season 2.
Good Series / Naff Boxset!

Good series but really let down by the cheapness of the official Region 2 DVD boxset. The cardboard outer slipcase is good but inside are just 2 slimline DVD cases - not 3 slimline DVD cases, one for each of the 3 discs, just 2! Warner Bros. are obviously so miserly that they decided to make one of the DVD cases a double disc case to save money. It looks CHEAP & NAFF!!!! Oh well, at least the series is good...
awesome!!!!

this is excellent due to no ''one'' actor taking all the spot light. there is no dead weight here ie arnie. now i know some people think he is a legend as i do however this gives the terminator franchise ''now'' the freedom it deserves bring on season 2 and bring on Terminator Salvation.
Sarah Connor finds herself a fugitive at large in the year 2007, once again trying to stop the apocalypse. And Skynet from finding her son, future rebellion leader John Connor.
'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' is a great TV series. It's set between the 2nd and 3rd movie. At first look, the series looks like another TV program cashing in on a movie success like 'Blade'. But this TV series really works and is a great watch. The series would have been a lot better with the larger amount of planned episodes but the series felt a little rushed in the last 2 episodes in particular. But it ended really good and am looking forward to the series returning to our screens for series 2.
Lena Headey makes a magnificent Sarah Connor, and really makes the role her own. Summer Glau is also fantastic as the reprogrammed terminator helping the good guys. And all the other performances are great. The special effects are amazing too, and all the time and effort put in to the series buy all the cast and crew really shines through.
I would recommend this series to anyone. Even though the second and third episodes do move slowly, the rest of the series really makes up for it. Watch it.
4 star TV series
3 star for lack of episodes
3.5 stars overall.
9 Episodes ...

Please bear in mind that due to the writers strike in the US this initial season is only 9 episodes in length. That said its a good start to the show and a second season is planned. Most of the episodes are good, a couple are mediocre, but its well worth watching - particularly if you are a Terminator fan, it has great link ins with the film/s.
Does the Movies Proud.

Very Very enjoyable to watch. Lots of fast paced action and good fight scenes. And i think the Cast is A+.
Love how this series ties in with the movies and seeing as it could be some time before another Terminator Film is made i hope this show goes on to do another few series'. This show is a Winner.
One of the best action sci fi shows in years

I love this show. I love the characters and storylines. Each episode reminds me you as if your watching an action sci-fi. This is isn't the best sci-fi in years but it is in terms of action. You don't see many sci-fi shows with a lot of action type elements. Cameron is a top notch character and the actress is believeable as a robot. Season 1 had a cliffhanger but it wasn't intended as a finale because of the writer's strike. Season 2 starts in the U.S in about 2 months and I hope Season 2 begins over here soon as well.
Good first series, the second should be even better

Top 100 DVD Reviewer
I watched the first episode and whilst I wasn't sure initially about the acting and special effects (probably because I'm so used to the films), the story itself was very interesting and I liked how it was unfolding. After the second episode I was hooked. The episodes are well written and offer more information as to the history of skynet, old and new characters and this all links in nicely to The Terminator 1 and 2.
I have always been a bit dubious about films that have been made into series as, expect for one or two (most notably Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Stargate), they have mostly been awful. You only have to look at the Blade or Robocop series to see what I mean. When I saw an advert for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, although it looked quite interesting, I was again worried. Fortunately it delivers enough in every department to keep you interested.
Credit has to be given to the main cast as they are well suited to the characters they play, Summer Glau in particular is very enjoyable to watch playing the sexy terminatrix (which even beats in Terminator 3). Thomas Decker also really impresses as the young John Connor and comes into his own around episode 7. Sarah Connor takes a bit of getting used to after the role being so well played by Linda Hamilton, however she also is really good in the role.
I think that generally it could have been even better, but as a first series and for a film franchise in particular, this has been a well made series which will hopefully get even better in the future. The next series has already been given the green light so I'm looking forward to that already.
The special effects for TV Series are also good, although they aren't in the same league as bigger TV series like Heroes (first series at least) or Star Trek, this is evident in the scenes of the future where the weapons don't look anywhere near as good (when fired) as the films. The Terminators themselves also don't look quite as good as in the films, but are still very realistic.
In some ways this is better than the third film, whilst in others it isn't. If you liked Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines then you will probably enjoy this and even if you didn't there is enough here to make you watch it. Regardless of these facts the series is worth a look and making up your own mind as it adds to the original story as well as developing other areas further. It will be interesting to see where it goes in the future.
A must watch!

I heard the series was going to be made a few years back and couldnt wait to see it, unfortunately i didnt get to watch it in great detail as i always had distractions going on but from what i did get to see i thought was very good, i loved the parts which went back in the future of Kyle Reece and his brother, i thought it all tied in nicely and great attention was payed to making sure any references to what happened in the first two films was correct. Summer Glau who plays the terminator sent to protect John in the series is brilliant in this role, certainly not what i was expecting Johns protector to be im sure along with everyone else! 5 stars from me.
