Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars So does this contain series 10 or not? Here's the answer.

And the answer is "yes" and "no". Series 9 was the first to have 12 episodes so when it came to be sold to overseas broadcasters the BBC (not missing a trick!) cut it in half and sold the first half as series 9 and the second half as series 10 - clever eh? But as far as us British viewers are concerned, this set contains what we saw in the eighties as series 9. Now the important bit: because series 9 was sold overseas as series 9 and 10, our series 10 was then sold as series 11, our series 11 sold as series 12, and so on. And it seems these playback collections are following the OVERSEAS numbering. So Playbacks next release, series 11 and 12, is actually our series 10 and 11. Hope this clarifies matters!

Must agree whole-heartedly with all the previous reviews - I too am of the opinion that we are being somewhat shortchanged here because ever since the LOTSW DVDs from the very beginning were released, we have not really being getting the full package. Whatever happened to the pilot episode? Surely in a composite collection such as it is being advertised as, not one episode should be excluded. Series 10? Is this really all from Series 10? As stated - we'll have to wait and see what is supplied on Series 11 and 12. No complaints about the actual LOTSW, but a tad worried about whether this is the real thing as far as all episodes is concerned. 5-Stars for the show, 3- Stars due to uncertainty re all of above-mentioned.

Once again Universal release a BBC series and try to change history. As previous posters have explained there is no Series 10 in this release just all the eps from S9 + 3 specials.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars NOT Series 9 & 10 - but still very welcome!

This issue has actually only got Series 9 - which was unusual in that it was the first to have 12 episodes and the third disk is actually 3 Specials - 'Father of the Bride' which is the first showing with Seymour and Edie, 'Big Day at Dream Acres' and the Christmas Special 'Merry Christmas, Father Christmas' - I suggest that Playback has been sold a bit of a pup here but am waiting to see what they think constitutes Series 11 & 12 which has been announced but without a release date.
Even so it is very welcome but I'm sure we would all like to see more releases ASAP until we are up to date!

Yes the last three episodes are specials but the bad news is that this is only series 9 plus the specials. None of series 10 is in this collection.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Looking forward very much to this but ...

Do we know if this wonderful release has any specials? It is well worth the money in my view, either way. But the previous Summer Wine releases have differed from other BBC DVDs in that they HAVE had specials. However, there are lots of specials in this era. Does anyone know what is planned for the future. But these episodes are all great and I am delighted it is being released. Hope they keep up these more frequent DVDs for the best comedy EVER!!

I am so glad that they are starting to bring the 80's episodes out on DVD. Keep up the good work.

Seymour makes a good replacement for Foggy with all his crazy inventions.
