Taking on the afterlife... one soul at a time!

Ichigo Kurosaki is an extraordinary 15-year-old boy who happens to be able to see ghosts. His fate takes an extraordinary turn when he meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper who shows up at Ichigo's house on the trail of a Hollow, a malevolent lost soul. Drawn to Ichigo's high level of spiritual energy, the Hollow attacks Ichigo and his family, and Rukia steps in to help but is injured and unable to fight. As a last resort, Rukia decides to transfer part of her Soul Reaper powers to Ichigo...

Ichigo, now a fully-fledged Soul Reaper, and Rukia, minus her powers, join together to face the challenges that lie ahead.

Bleach is probably the best anime series to come out in a long long time! Easily contending with top names like Naruto, Bleach has become possibly the most popular series to come out of japan since Dragonball Z. To prove this point, a game a recently been released for the Wii called the shattered blade, which features characters not even released in the english dubbed version!

Bleach follows the activites of a 15-year-old boy called Ichigo Kurosaki who has the ability to see ghosts, and has done since he was little. the first series (this box set) follows his adventure of first becoming a shinigami (soul reaper in the eng. dub) and using his powers to fight hollows. His fights lead him to discover what kind of a person he really is.

This series shows the true side of anime and is perfect for anyone over 13 really. I wouldn't say any lower then 13 because of language, blood, violence etc. I think you'll find that no matter what age, you'll love Bleach and follow it almost immediately, whether you like bows and arrows, big hearted giants or insanse moments of stupidity you can't go wrong here!

I'd recommend this box set to any one! To the people who like the normal Japanese version, this of obviously a good but i recommend you watch the dubbed aswell (yes you make think it's rubbish but seriously, they picked some good actors for voices like Ichigo's (the same guy who plays Nero in Devil May Cry 4) and Urahara's is just hilarious!

Everyone i hope you found this review helpful and i hope you'll pre-order/ buy it with me!

Kubo Tite's manga masterpiece comes to the screen

If Toriyama's Dragonball introduced the concept of wacky, overblown battles and even wackier characters, Kubo's Bleach refines it, and bumps it up a few notches. Kurosaki Ichigo, the central character, can see ghosts, and, moody though he may be about the whole thing, does his best to give them the peace they seek. When he meets the zanpaku-to-wielding Kuchiki Rukia, a Soul Reaper, or shinigami, however, his involvement with the world of innocent souls and the monsters (Hollows) that feed on them, takes on a whole new dimension, as you will see. The animation is consistently high quality, and the story is prone to less 'filler' than its stable-mate Naruto, and its content is generally quite violent, though not when compared to other Manga Entertainment releases. Whether Ichigo is fighting Hollows with his massive zanpaku-to, or Ishida Uryu, a Quincy and opposite to the Soul Reapers in philosophy, or even the Soul Reapers themselves, which makes up the majority of the second and third series', the action is always smooth and fresh. The highlight of the first series, for me at least, is Ichigo's battle with Menos Grande, a gargantuan Hollow, which summarises well the ludicrous and mesmerising nature of Bleach at its best. Driven more by combat than Naruto, Bleach still retains impressive characterisation, and it can surprise you with just how emotional some of its scenes can be. I read the manga of Bleach, and it's somewhat disappointing that, unlike Naruto, the TV series is agonisingly slow to be imported to these shores, ever-broadening the gulf between the literature and the animation. Still, when each series does arrive, it is definitely worth the wait. If you are new to Bleach, then there is no better time to start watching it than now. Resplendent with pop-culture references, a killer soundtrack, flowing animation and characterisation, Bleach the anime is a more than worthy adaptation of the award-winning manga, and a great series taken on its own.

 Good Jump series

This series is one of the most popular of the shonen jump company series and i my opinion one of the best. There is enough character development to make the characters likeable, but not too much that causes confusion. The action scenes can be quite epic, a completely different type of combat to Dragonball or others by Jump. The first series is well worth picking up (especially in this boxset!) and is great value for money. If you can honestly sit through the series and not find a single thing that appeals to you then you need to choose another hobby.
