It doesn't matter to me if some people think the manga is much better than the anime. Or if some people say the animation takes away some of the original style and brilliance.

Bleach is very entertaining as an anime- and even though the manga made it popular- I still think the anime was brilliant.

It's funny and quirky. And the main character has his ups and downs. I like the fact that he's not ordinary, even though currently he's using someone else's powers.

Instead, I am intrigued by Ichigo, and want to know more about him.
I want to see how the other sub characters tie in. I want to watch more of Bleach, with it's carefully laid out action scenes. Gripping and exciting.

Also, the anime is very moving. Not just literally, but emotionally. I usually don't like overly emotional things because I cry easily, but the emotion in this was well done and not depressing. Just lovely.

I'd definitely buy this for the asking price (£25). Any more and I would have passed Bleach by- which would have been my loss. ;)

This series is one of the most popular of the shonen jump company series and i my opinion one of the best. There is enough character development to make the characters likeable, but not too much that causes confusion. The action scenes can be quite epic, a completely different type of combat to Dragonball or others by Jump. The first series is well worth picking up (especially in this boxset!) and is great value for money. If you can honestly sit through the series and not find a single thing that appeals to you then you need to choose another hobby.

yes bleach is a great series and the content is sort of similar to dbz, the main character is powerful, he meets enemies who are more powerful, then he overcomes them, lather rinse and repeat. but thats not all, you can really develop an affinity to the characters which can make you laugh, cry and even fear for thier safety at times. this is far superior to dragonball z in almost every way. the action is intense, the laughs are numerous and imagery is sometimes beautiful. great stuff.

Excellent anime series although i would never EVER say it was better than Dragonball Z but still good. A must have...

Although I have been watching episodes over the internet. This Anime is worth buying. As previous review says, It is surely better then DragonBallZ. There is more power in the fights and more action. A must get!

This is a BIG BIG ANIME!!!!!!!!!! a must watch. this is on par or even better than Drangonball Z

Bleach is probably the best anime series to come out in a long long time! Easily contending with top names like Naruto, Bleach has become possibly the most popular series to come out of japan since Dragonball Z. To prove this point, a game a recently been released for the Wii called the shattered blade, which features characters not even released in the english dubbed version!

Bleach follows the activites of a 15-year-old boy called Ichigo Kurosaki who has the ability to see ghosts, and has done since he was little. the first series (this box set) follows his adventure of first becoming a shinigami (soul reaper in the eng. dub) and using his powers to fight hollows. His fights lead him to discover what kind of a person he really is.

This series shows the true side of anime and is perfect for anyone over 13 really. I wouldn't say any lower then 13 because of language, blood, violence etc. I think you'll find that no matter what age, you'll love Bleach and follow it almost immediately, whether you like bows and arrows, big hearted giants or insanse moments of stupidity you can't go wrong here!

I'd recommend this box set to any one! To the people who like the normal Japanese version, this of obviously a good but i recommend you watch the dubbed aswell (yes you make think it's rubbish but seriously, they picked some good actors for voices like Ichigo's (the same guy who plays Nero in Devil May Cry 4) and Urahara's is just hilarious!
