Lost In Austen (2 Disc)

What a complete and utter shambles itv!
The programmes were very good; alex kingston was a joy, as always to watch, jemima rooper was superb, i thought it was worthy of buying for our dvd collection, we were sitting watching when we had to stop the dvd and run it back, twice, they have butchered the scene in episode 2, after dinner, amanda is persuaded to sing for the group, the disc then cuts from dinner table to the group applauding amanda. And mr. Bingley makes reference to the lyrics of the song down town; this was a pinnacle point in the story for amanda, and it was cut!!!!!

As the dvd was advertised as the programmes, i feel conned; i paid for the dvd version of the tv series, not a cut down copy!

On the reverse of the dvd box, it states the disc is in stereo, i was somewhat miffed at this, as in this day and age, stereo???? But when you play the disc, it asks if you want to switch the 5.1 on or off!!!

All in all, a very disappointing purchase, i doubt i would ever buy an itv produced disc again. Itv should agree to reinstate the song scene and agree to replace every disc sold free of charge

A Tremendous Outstanding Series but please be aware if you purchase this DVD and you have actually seen the Series on ITV1 that due to Copyright Reasons Episode 2 with Amanda singing Downtown has been omitted with only a small disclaimer on the back of the DVD saying that certain scenes have been deleted!

I was extremely disappointed by this and am sure that others who have purchased this DVD and who saw the Series would be in agreement with me!

If you missed the Series on Television you will still enjoy this DVD but the scene that is missing was actually one of the funniest scenes and is greatly missed!

Shame on you ITV! You should have made people aware of this prior to releasing the DVD and made sure this information was clearly visible on the front of the DVD...........................Not in tiny script on the back!

Wow wow wow! Itv done good on this amazing till the end! And i cried! Lol you all mst get this dvd!

Just watched the final episode of itv and loved the ending, really good alternative version of the story.
A must for a fan and for anyone whose never experienced jane austen.

One of the best series ive ever watched, i couldnt wait for a wednesday night to see the next episode gutted when it ended, would of like to see a bit more of an ending with amanda and darcy.
Mortified that the singing scene had been taken out, this is one of the funniest bits, that i kept fastwarding on sky+. I loved all the characters brilliant cast, would recommend to everyone, its something that you will get hooked on.
Would love to see a few more original series exactly like this one.
