Review

The Academy Award winning producer and special effects team behind The Lord Of The Rings join with Revolution Studios to bring this magical motion picture to the screen.

The story of The Water Horse begins when a young boy named Angus MacMorrow takes home a mysterious object he finds on the beach. He soon realizes that it is a magical egg, and finds himself raising an amazing creature: a mythical "water horse". As he and his friend, whom he names Crusoe, form a bond of friendship, Angus begins a journey of discovery, protecting a secret that gives birth to a legend.

On one of them slow days when the kids are doing your head in this film is perfect, i have 4 horrors(kids) and it gave me peace and quiet, even the wife watched it and enjoyed it. Only problem is now they want to watch it more often! Overall 4 out of 5 as it never got me to intrested in it.

Watched this on Sunday afternoon and my two sons loved it. It almost follows the Princess Bride with the way the story is told. It ticks all th boxes for good family entertainment and the extras are not bad either. I have knocked a point off for the non-use of Scottish actors and the fact that the majority of the filming is in New Zealand.

Totally captivating, effects are stunning, heart warming story, a real 'christmas day' sort of film. Would recommed to everyone. I'd advise young children to watch first time with an adult due to mild scary parts.
