Becker is fantastic, its as simple as that, the writing the acting and particularly Ted Dansons brooding presence as Dr John Becker is fabulous. In my opinion this never really received the praise it should have it really is a genuine comedy gem. I purchased the box set recently even after reading the reviews on here informing me of the bad quality of the sync etc but i decided to risk it and they must have fixed the problem because my disks are fine. This is a purchase you wont soon regret The show is great, the disks are now fine and the price is right i really hope they release the other 5 series of this Wonderful Comedy!!!

  Great show, terrible DVD!

Becker is a great show, funny but also heart-warming and the acting is great. From the first scene with ted danson, you immediately forgot about sam malone & cheers - he is becker.

Sadly the dvd released by cbs/paramount is pretty poor, while the picture quality is very good for the age of the show, some episodes aren't even in-sync! It's very shoddy, you'd have thought somebody there would have noticed (it's not a problem with one copy).

I'd say buy it for the show, but you can't really enjoy a show with out-of-sync video.

  Great sitcom. Poor quality DVD

Starting off with Becker, the comedy. I think it's wonderful, personally. Everything a comedy should be.

However I have problems with this DVD pressing. The first 2 episodes are transferred horribly. The sound is out of sync with the lips of the actors / characters. It sorts itself out a little bit but then onto the second disc, the sync problems reappear. It's taken almost 11 years to get this from TV to DVD, and you'd think they could have done a better job than this. Also, disappointingly there are little or no extra features on the disc.
