Have you asked yourself this very question before buying a film on the chance it could be OK???
Well to sum this film up, it is PANTS!!!
I don't understand how a film with sex and violence could be so boring but amazingly it manages it with flying colours.
It will be the longest 90 mins of your life.
I found myself watching the time more than I was watching the TV......... god it was a struggle to get through
I even prayed the DVD player would break just to end the torture but it never happened!
Strangely my missus enjoyed it though ( don't know how! )

...Dont bother with the film. At first, I thought there might be some chance of it being ok, as some game to film crossovers have been quite good. Sadly this is not one of them. There wasn't much of a plot and I actually wondered why some of the actors wanted to be in it after reading the script.

This is a terrible waste as what I thought was some well known actors. I brought this as there was quite a few actors I was familar with but the acting and storyline was terrible.
I was not impressed and had I not spent alot of money on it would have turned it off, oh and the corney sex scenes just make it worse!!!

In one word . . . . Diabolical. I can usually put up with faults so long as there is one redeeming feature, however, this film is truley aweful. Acting, dialogue, accents, sets, costumes, action and editing are so poor i was extremely disappointed. Sir Ben what were you thinking? Avoid at all costs.

Uwe Boll has done it again, taken a computer game and made a god afwul film out of it. I want to know who he is connected to as after his previous efforts I'm surpirsed that the has not been given the only thing he could possible direct (TRAFFIC). Terrible dialogue and quite awful acting throughout most parts. Even Madsen and Rodrigues seem embarressed to be saying the tripe of a script out loud. Avoid like the plague.

BloodRayne is a movie i had heard terrible things about, from the acting to the directing and everything inbetween.
Upon watching it though i found it actually wasn't that bad.
Fair enough it has it's problems, but which film doesn't?
There are some fights which seem poorly choreographed, lines poorly delivered and scenes of over-the-top violence which seems oddly out of place at times (especially considering the games were two of the most violent games I'd ever played!)
To truelly enjoy this film you have to go into it with an open mind, after all it's a video-game adaption, and just about all of them, from Street Fighter to Tomb Raider to DOOM have failed to live up to expectations, to copy a story straight from a game wouldnt work and some changes are vital to make it work, BloodRayne is no different, to simply get down to the blood, guts, gore and feeding works fine in the game, but not all movie-goers are video-gamers and backstory and plot has to be unravelled in a totally different way, i can accept this, but it seems a lot of people can't.
Before you watch this film, forget everything you know about the game (if you know anything) and just enjoy the 90 mins that unfold before you, It's definatly worth a watch even if its just the once

i was very impressed with this film, this is by far the best Uwe Nowe has done.
Michelle Rodriguez does not fit her character, i see what they were thinking, and Michael Masden's voice did not work for me at first but after a while i got used to it.
Kristina Loken seem's to suit the role of Rayne for some reason.
an enjoyable combination of sex, action and vampiric horror, i loved it!!

This movie has all the grace of a straight to TV movie. The kind you'd watch on a Sunday afternoon on a channel that has terrible ratings. Yes, the gore is cool and it has everything a vampire film should have though if you ignore the blood, gore and nudity you discover a standard of acting so terrible it makes you wonder why the director hasn't decided to take up a new career as a bus conductor. It even has the, "ah, we meet again!" line in there.

It would be acceptable if this film was meant to be a horror but its not. Watching these actors trying to converse in the language used during the plots timeline makes you wonder how they sleep at night. The action scenes also makes you wonder since no one seems to have much skill, in fact the action is very similar to early Power Ranger episodes. Yeap. You know the kind.

For anyone who can actually use a sword or is a fan of action films, this is the kind of nonsense that causes drink cans and food containers to be thrown at the television. Bloodrayne herself is about as well trained at combat as Jar Jar Binks and when you notice that all the blades in the movie have perfectly, rounded, blatantly blunt edges you cant help but wonder, "well. That should leave a mark..... kind of".

Now I can guess your wondering, "if it's so bad why have you given it 2 stars?" Well, it comes down to pure effort. They did well with what they had. It has the weapons, the characters and the gore. Worth watching if you like really bad movies.

Uwe Boll has made some funny yet embaressingly bad flims based on hit arcade games like house of the dead etc but somehow has come up smelling with roses with BloodRayne which is filled with hot babes and the one playing the lead role Kristiana Loken (Terminator 3) blood and gore as well as the ott action scenes one for admirers of cheesy cult films!

This movie is cool, its got sexy babes load of blood and gore, its a gem for a horror fan. you dont need to know anything about the game really. Its about time this film was avalible in the uk as its been out on dvd in the u.s for nearly two years.
