American Dad! (from Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane) is the animated story of Stan Smith, who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm - as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up.

 Far better than Family Guy!

Ive watched every American Dad since they first released it, and i much prefer it to the repetitive nature of family guy. I got bored of Family guy once season 4 came around, but now i dont care as i have another cartoon to fill its place. American Dad seems to really have outgrown FG and the characters were even more developed with back history and interweaving personalitlies after season 2, which eclipses that of the rather random character plot FG has to offer even to this day. If your a fan of the old FG and are finding you really cannot be bothered to watch anymore of its "predictable unpredictable" nature, then you have found your show!

 same creators totally diffirent show

American Dad is from the same people but is a totally diffirnet show to family guy. sure the house may be similar and the characters but the comedy is not. family guy is an obvious laugh. it makes fun of things in a very simple and obvious way. American Dad does make fun of the same things but it does it in a less obvious way. you have to think a bit more to apreciate the comedy and allthough some people might not like that or like American Dad at all i prefer it to family guy and would much rather whatch it the family guy. both do deserve respect though as are very very funny in their own ways.

 American daddy =)

I've watched some of these episodes online and it's actually...

How can I put this..

FLIPPIN AMAZING! American dad is a hundered times better than family guy, it's funnier and actually has a storyline.

I'm getting this the day it comes out even though I would have already watched them all online.

If you haven't got any of the American Dad DVDs, get them now. Unless of course you want to avoid addiction.

Brilliant.... but not better than family guy!

American dad has really made it up there, with the the other comedy classics. Its different to family guy which i quite like, im glad its not a copy. Lovin this vol., some of my favourite episodes would have to be, bush comes to dinner, and , haylias, the president coming to the smiths for dinner and hayley trying to kill stan, are bloomin great and funny storylines. Well done american dad, uve done good.
