Alien vs Predator...for years we'd been waiting for the ultimate showdown, until finally...we didn't get it. Why? Because it was left in the mark-missing hands of Paul W.S Anderson. With a string of cinematic diarrhea to his name (with the possible...that's POSSIBLE...exception of Event Horizon) somebody handed the reins of what could have been a classic of horror/sci-fi to this Gump of a director. I don't really blame his directorial skills; he can pull off some blisteringly cool visual sequences, but i do blame his writing talent. In that he doesn't have any. AvP is a mess. From beginning to end, the script is dire, the plot has more holes than my granddad's string vest, the actors seem to realise that they are deep in the bowels of a turkey, and do their best to help the stuffing along. Visually, it looks good: but so does fast food. AvP has no business being seen. By anyone.

How can movies based on two fantastic franchises, both with gloriously rich backgrounds be ground up in a movie meat-grinder and flushed away like this? If AvP was a turkey, then AvP 2 is it's H5N1 infected offspring. The cinematic world would have been better served if neither of these two steamers had ever been laid.
