Embraced for her loveable, spirited nature, Mulan is a young girl who doesn't quite fit into her tradition bound society. When the invading Hun army comes charging over China's Great Wall, Mulan's ageing father is ordered into battle! To spare him from harm, Mulan disguises herself as a soldier and secretly takes his place in the Imperial army, training with a comical, ragtag troop, led by the courageous Captain Shang. Never far away are Mulan's hilarious guardian dragon, Mushu, and lucky cricket, Cri-Kee. But Mulan will need more than Mushu's razor-sharp wit to defeat the ruthless Hun leader, Shan-Yu. Only by staying true to herself will she bring victory to her country and honour to her family.

This and the Lion King are probably the best Disney films ever made (followed by Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast of course). Mulan has out and out comedy, great animated action sequences and then that lovely Disney feeling at the end like you've just cuddled a fluffy kitten. Brilliant!

Why is there so much negative feedback?! This is Brilliant!

This is an amazing classic Disney film! I was a little unsure of buying it at first because of so much negative feedback on this page but I was mistaken - this is perhaps the best classic disney film from the whole collection of classic disney! Anyone who is considering purchasing this DVD, Its a beautiful and powerful film and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed!

I love Disney cartoons and this is definitely one of my favourites. It's fast paced and enjoyable to watch over and over again. I'm not a huge fan of Donny Osmond, but his song is catchy and you find yourself humming/singing it afterwards. Eddie Murphy is simply hilarious. Although it isn't an accurately true event of the legend, it is still educational. Anyone of any age who enjoys light hearted comedy in animation will enjoy Mulan. I highly recommend buying it.

 Another classic Disney film!

Another refreshing, exciting and just plain lovely disney movie. As a chinese daughter, Mulan is expected to act in certain ways and do certain things in life e.g. get married. However, Mulan's personality does not suit this course in life at all and although she tries her best, she messes up a major etiquette test that her family were depending on. Shortly after, when the Huns threaten China, the Emperor conscripts one male from every family. Being the only male in her family, Mulan's father knows he must join the war. However, Mulan is upset and outraged that her father, who has been slightly crippled from an earlier war he fought in, must again engage in battle where, due to his ailments, he will surely die. Thus, in order to save her father and bring honor to her family, Mulan steals away in the dead of night dressed as a man in her father's suit of armour and the conscription letter to go to training camp where her hilarious antics and clumsiness do not go unoticed.

Definitely worth buying although it is a little expensive. However, trying to buy most disney films on dvd is expensive so this is worth it.
