Embraced for her loveable, spirited nature, Mulan is a young girl who doesn't quite fit into her tradition bound society. When the invading Hun army comes charging over China's Great Wall, Mulan's ageing father is ordered into battle! To spare him from harm, Mulan disguises herself as a soldier and secretly takes his place in the Imperial army, training with a comical, ragtag troop, led by the courageous Captain Shang. Never far away are Mulan's hilarious guardian dragon, Mushu, and lucky cricket, Cri-Kee. But Mulan will need more than Mushu's razor-sharp wit to defeat the ruthless Hun leader, Shan-Yu. Only by staying true to herself will she bring victory to her country and honour to her family.

This is an amazing classic Disney film! I was a little unsure of buying it at first because of so much negative feedback on this page but I was mistaken - this is perhaps the best classic disney film from the whole collection of classic disney! Anyone who is considering purchasing this DVD, Its a beautiful and powerful film and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed!

Pleasantly distracting Disney cartoon that is unusual in its subject matter - crossdressing and war. Mulan is the highspirited daughter who takes her father's place when he's called to war against the Huns. Anachronistic comedy is provided by Eddie Murphy as a dragon - yet oddly it sort of works. While this may not be the most distinguished from the studio's archives, it still boasts some moments of jawdropping animation, notably a mountainside attack by the invading hoardes.
