Vampire killer Blade first made his gruesome mark onscreen in the 1998 film starring Wesley Snipes, launching a film franchise that has been a favourite of horror fans everywhere. The battle against the undead continues in this stylish series, as Blade--played by rapper Sticky Fingaz--fights to save the human race from hordes of evil bloodsuckers. With a new type of super-vampire in the works, humanity's only hope comes from this half-man half-immortal hunter and his capable and alluring comrade (Jill Wagner). This collection presents all 13 episodes of the dark and action-packed series.

At first I wasnt willing to give this series a chance being a massive fan of the awesome movies! Wesley Snipes has developed a great character over the course of 3 films and its hard to imagine anybody filling his shoes especially for a TV series! But Kirk Jones is really good at taking over the vampire slaying skills, he plays the character faithfully with the same style as Snipes with all the dead pan humour too! The storyline is very good too and runs throughout the whole 13 episodes, its full of violence and good gory blood and guts and vampires being ashed!! The rest of the supporting cast is also very good and sexy! You certainly dont get bored, unlike some movie adaptions this stays faithfully to the blade theme and action and fighting and a decent budget! Certainly worth this low price.

 Great Show!

It gets off to a shaky start with the feature length pilot but after that things get good! The story arc is very intresting and keeps you guessing right to the last second.

It takes a while to get used to Sticky as Blade but he's made the role his own by the end of the season.

Hopes were not high for the cancelled TV series. How could the TV series compare to the Wesly Snipes Kick Ass movies. Surly the violence would have to be toned down, and TV shows normaly cannot affort the oustanding action sequences of the movies. Well for most of these reservations I was wrong!
Sticky Fingas might be a light weight Blade compared to Snipes, but he fit's the role well for the TV version. The violence is not so in your face as with the films, but is still striking for a TV production, and amazingley the action is well staged and has moments that could stand up to the films. But it's the development of the characters and the story in this series that really does impress. I was expecting a poor immitation of the movies, but what you get is a gripping insight into the Vampire underworld, and a well told story over all the episodes. Don't watch expecting to see the next Blade film, we will have to wait for Mr.Snipes to get out of prison first. But do watch expecting to be suprised and very entertained, with a great film/ comic to Tv adaption. This has to be one of the best Big screen to small screen adaptions ever made.

Forget the films when you watch this and you'll enjoy it.
