Review

From the director of Hitman comes Frontiers!

2007. The French presidential elections are a face-off between a conservative and an extreme right-wing candidate. The banlieues are ablaze. After a failed robbery, a gang of small-time crooks splits up and goes on the run from the police, some of them seeking refuge in a seedy hostel, deep in an industrial wasteland. Unbeknownest to the robbers, their hosts are a bunch of Neo-Nazi cannibals, who will go to any lengths to turn their fascist fantasies into reality. Our young protagonists' ordeal begins and, subjected to all kinds of mutilation and torture, they learn the true meaning of universal suffrage.

Frontiers is a genuinely scary, gory and dark film that is a must for any horror fan who is partial to foreign films.
Personally, I found this film considerably more enjoyable than Martyrs and it hit a par on violence, suspense and genuine terror with Switchblade Romance.
Once again, the French have nailed it.

this is amazing, the most brutal and gut wrenching movie of its kind. this is what hostel should have been if you ask me! the part with the pincers make my skin crawl. great cast of characters, good story, amazing action and effects. i like this even more than martyrs. must own. the best french extreme around.

A very close contender (with Switchblade Romance) for my favourite French horror. Excellent female lead (I do love a kick ass heroine in a movie) Some genuinely scary moments (especially if you are claustrophobic!) and a decent storyline make this a must have addition to any horror fan's collection.
