A weak script, if there was a script, terrible direction and poor acting and action that is so hard to see due to the poor lighting it becomes very annoying after a while. This movie has probably kicked to death this particular franchise in this form which is a shame.

  Great fun, unfairly maligned

This is exactly what AVP fans were saying they wanted for years, only now they've got it it's taken a rather unfair battering. Following on immediately from the end of AVP, a Predator ship crash unleashes the alien plague on an unsuspecting rural american town. With a few very brave decisions (the first humans to get killed are a rather surprising combination), some heart (a single mom soldier coming back from war to find her daughter rejects her) and a headstrong hero trying to steer his little brother away from violence, this tries hard to make you care about the humans who are about to become cannon fodder. And soon many of them do, stumbling around trying to survive as a full-on Aliens vs Predator scenario rages around them, destroying the town. Much has been made of the level of darkness. Ive watched this on an old CRT TV and a modern 50" plasma and had little to no trouble seeing it all as intended at factory settings. A lot of the film is set at dark, rainy night, and so is supposed to be naturally dark - what is it they used to say about how it's what you don't see that scares you? Whe you do see the beasts, they're impressive. Lithe, fast aliens, a viciously efficient Predator 'troubleshooter' dispatched to wage clean-up, and a monstrous Pred-Alien hybrid who gets a few stomach-churning stand-out scenes. All in all, very exciting, fun, and much better than AVP if you just let yourself be taken in by the sheer dumb fun of it all.

Watched this when it first came out on DVD and I really didnt like this film so after watching the first one this week I decided to give this sequel another go.
On second viewing of the film it still lacks a plot it is weak compared to the first film and that was quite thin on a script as well.
The special effects and fight scenes in this one are better than the first but the main problem you will find is that you wont be able to see the action or the Aliens and Predators due to the fact this film is so dark.
My advice is turn the brightness on your T.V right up and you can just about make out the action on screen then and also turn your brain of and just watch the action and that way you might be able to enjoy this film as it as no plot to think about worth a watch but there is no rewatch value trust me I have tried.

  Wet kipper

Have you ever seen that Monty Python sketch where one person repeatedly slaps another with a wet fish? Well, this is how I felt about this movie. It was almost as if I was being double teamed by the Strause brothers and hit by fish in the face. The movie is an insult to the Alien and Predator series and I can only assume that it was made to make money. Uwe Boll could have done a better job with the budget they were given. Instead of trying to make a good movie, they made a teen slasher movie that attempted to include elements of the Ripley character. In the end they failed to give the character sufficient time to grow and all she did was provide a macho female lead. The characters were killed off in increasingly funny ways and you failed to care why they died. Unlike the original movies, where there was character development and you actually cared as to why someone was killed. The movie lacked direction, writing, strong likeable characters and a plot beyond aliens arrive, people die thats it.

The major issue for me was the predator, their code was to not kill innocent parties yet the predator did. And how did the Pred/Alien suddenly develop the ability to ingest 4 chestbursters into one person? Did they forget that the aliens need eggs/facehuggers to implant?

Anyone who calls themselves a fan of the original trilogy would best stay away as would anyone that likes plot/story, anyone who enjoys movies that require leaving your brain at the door go on ahead an watch.

Better than the original AvP but that isn't hard.

I actually quite liked this film it had many things the other didnt. The plot was better even though its still shallow and the action was miles better than previous. One of the biggest downsides to it was the fact that it was very dark at times but if you can get over that then this is a very entertaining film for fans of either great franchises. Enjoy

This film is disgraceful after the first two Predator films and even Alien vs. Predator. In my mind they have cheapened the Alien and Predator franchises by making this film. It so clearly a cash-in film, i watched on just hoping it would get better but they have broken down the horror and terror used in the other films, replacing it with terrible holly wood acting and a boring generic setting. I can't express just how much this film is messed up, boring from start to finish.
