Saw this two nights ago. Possibly the worst film I have ever seen.
I love the Alien films and Predator too, have them all. But this should never have been made. Rubbish acting and cheap effects done in the dark and rain, what a cop out.
Should come with a warning: You will never get this time back!!!
Do Not Watch!!!

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Dark, Very Dark

This film is dark and I don't mean in an dark intense plot sort of way its more in the wear a pair of night vision goggles when watching this or you'll go blind trying to make out what's going on sorta way.

Still am a fan of the aliens and predators idea and I don't think the storyline or the acting en stuff was to bad which is why I gave it 2 stars instead 1 defiantly more if I could see what was going on.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars An absolute mess

This is quite literally the worst film I have ever seen. Bar none! And don't get me wrong, I like bad movies, but this is beyond a joke. Incompetantly shot, badly written, hilarious acting ... none of this would be a problem if this wasn't a movie featuring two of the greatest sci fi movie Icons of the 80's. But it is, and as such it's an unforgivable mess.

It is pretty violent though...

I watched this film with a mate in an empty cinema. As a result we were able to talk as mutch as we wanted about the film. In reality we found it soo funny we could hardly stop laughing(mabey its our sence of humor).

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Average at best.

As a concept, Alien Vs. Predator should be about the best thing since... well, since just about everything. Combining two of the most iconic figures in sci-fi and pitching them head long into a battle of survival should be kick ass.

However, as an exercise, AVP Requiem proves just how far reality can fall from potential.
I have loved the graphic novels from which the film takes its title, and have often been enthralled by the tales of genetic engineering, bio-weaponry and unlikely loyalty . I was disapointed with 2004's AVP, especially as it seemed to ignore the legacy from which it took its names. Unfortunately, Requiem does little to put right these ills.
For one, it seems that very little has been thought out in way of story or plot. The film kicks off shortly after the end of the first, with the predators leaving earth victorious. However it isnt long before the ship runs into trouble and plummets straight back to earth, backwater america to be precise. This should have been the kick off for a brilliant horror-sci-fi movie. I for one can remember nightmares as a kid (Ok, young man) in which the Alien arrived on earth. Unfortunatley, it is at this point that all atempt at reasonable plot are given up in favour letting our two protagonists get down to business. There is a half backed tale of teen love/lust and a cop/con brother act in there, but the acting is of such low grade that you never care enough whether any of the human cast survive for these stories to have any effect.

However, the biggest problem by far is the shear darkness of the whole film. I dont mean it's-the-end-of-the-world, life-is-pointless type dark. I spent literally the first half of the movie trying to work out just what was wrong with my telly as the contrast was so low before i realized it was the film that was at fault. To be fair, there could be a very decent and highly enjoyable action flick hidden away here, but it was just far to dark to be able to tell.

Overall, this is another poor showing from the AVP series, a series with the framework and legacy to provide a truly outstanding film. If you must watch this, however, watch it with the lights off. it wont be any scarier but it is the only chance youve got of seing anything on-screen

This film is awful. I have just seen it. Originally I was gutted I missed it in the cinema as I love the whole aliens and predator movie's. Thank god I did. This movie is DARK, you can't see what is going on and it's almost impossible to see people's faces. If it was brighter it would almost certainly have been much better. If there is another, lets hope mankind/the aliens and the predator species all get wiped out at the same time so they cant ruin the "franchise" further.

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Hard to visually watch.

Most of the film was set in the dark.

Dark spaceship, space, nighttime, powercut, sewers, anyhting devoid of light so I struggled to see the quality of the Predalien as it was mostly in the shadows.
Also the action sequences was hard to enjoy as I had to try to adjust the contrast on my telly just to make out what was going on.
Not a bad film, script needed improvement so that the dialogue could flow better (you'll know what I mean at the end).
It's okay but not a classic.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars oh my god what rubbish

please, please, please, do not waste your money on this film, the script, dialogue, story are all total rubbish, you will have more fun watching the telly tubbies. if you are that desperate to watch it, i suggest renting, least this way you dont waste to much money on this crap movie

I'm a massive Alien(s) fan and couldn't wait for this to come out. I saw it at the cinema and it was a let down. I still bought it just so I have the whole collection. I find it, at times, to be a bit like Scary/Epic Movie, ripping off the previous films in cringe-worthy scenes. I.E The kids face being wiped with the towel, The Army getting whooped in the street with very a similar dialogue to Aliens and the worst of all "mummy, are the monsters gone now"...

It's a shame really because aside from the darkness of the filming the Aliens and Predators look pretty good.

I'll still watch it from time to time but not with the same enthusiasm that I watch Alien(s) or Predator. 2.5 rounded up to 3.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars forget the human cast, its all about the Aliens and predator

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

Being an avid collector of Sci-Fi Movies and reading the various reviews for AvP2,
I found that I was not in any rush to purchase this title, now I wish that I had brought it sooner. AvP2 is a very entertaining flick. I agree that the actors aren't anything special and that the movie is Dark, but its nothing like what other reviewers are saying.
What this film offers is more focus on the aliens and the Predator the human characters don't have much to do with the film, Its moments when you think some minor character development is going on only to have them killed off shortly after, No Victim has been left out in this movie either, everything from a young boy to pregnant women getting the Alien treatment, there is also plenty of gore from your typical Alien chestburster to Heads being blown off by the Predators weapons. This film does start of a little slow but it soon picks up the pace with non stop relentless action. Like the First AvP movie this film also has links to the Weyland Yutani Corp.

So to sum it up AvP2 is more about the Aliens and the Predator, the human cast are just there to be killed off and don't play any major role in the film except to be hosts to the Aliens, If you want it to be compared to the first AvP, I would say that the First AvP was more focused on character development and less about the aliens and predators, probably because of the amount they had to pay to its cast members, where AvP2 has forgone getting big name actors and spent its budget on the Aliens and Predators, AvP2 has a lot more Action and stays faithful the AvP universe.
Ill give this flick a 7 out of 10.
