Easily Shane Meadows greatest film, this is really worth checking out if you only heard about him after This Is England was released. This film went unnoticed by alot of people, which is a shame as it really is one of the best British films in recent years. Paddy Considine yet again proves his acting abilities - his performance reminds me of De Niro in Taxi Driver, flipping between the serene and rage with the click of a finger. Must see.

Just buy it ,watch it and enjoy a very real,gritty british film that will make you think and feel long after the credits roll.

An excellent film that is not very well known, but if you watch it you will be recomending it to all your friends and family, believe me.

Dead man's shoes is a truly great film.For me this is Shane Meadows best film. Dead man's shoes was not as stylized as This is England but the film certainly delivers on the content. If your looking for the visually spectacular then don't buy Dead man's shoes, but if your looking for a film that'll go down in history as a true great, then this is for you.

The acting in the film in great and there were no bad performances. The stand out performance of the film is obviously Paddy Considine.

The film further solidifies Shane Meadow's name in history along side other great British directors like Ken Loach. Like Ken Loach Shane Meadow's has made a career out of gritty social realist films. If your a fan of Ken Loach then i highly suggest you check out Meadows.

The DVD also has great extras and special features to keep your interest longer.

I have only just descovered this brilliant film, by word of mouth.
I was aware of it and how good it was supposed to be, but it was one of those films that passed me by.
How glad I am that I watched this outstanding movie.
This has to be one of the best British movies of the past decade, and only inpounds the fact that Shane Medows (This is England) is one of our best directors. Also credit to Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz) for giving one of the most honest moving performances to hit the screen in ages.
The film is stark, violent, moving and very funny in equal measures.
Everybody in the cast gives note perfect turns.
Don't do what I did and wait years to watch this brilliant film, take my advice and the advice of the other reviewers on this page.
Buy this film now, you will not regret it.
