They came for water. And for food. And as it turned out, we were the food. but humanity bravely resisted - a struggle seen in the hit miniseries V and V: The Final Battle. Yet the war continues.

The heroic conflict comes to a surprising outcome in V: The Series, presented complete and uncut in this 19 episode set. Once again, Earth is the main battleground. But now the aliens whose human guise hides their true reptillian natures are wiser. They believe the secret to their survival on Earth lies in the DNA of the newly born half-human, half-spaceling Starchild. They intend to capture her. But that's something the world's Resistance Fighters cannot allow.

Stunning show - poor quality DVD

I had been waiting for this show to arrive on DVD ever since the original mini-series was released. The original mini-series was given a stunning digital transfer, 16:9 widescreen with stereo sound. However, this series was not so fortunate. Non digital transfer (from video - with a slight flickering at the top, from time to time), 1.0 mono sound and in 4:3 picture format. Although the show is still as good today as it was in 1984/1985, I believe that Warner Brothers Entertainment could have done a better job with this DVD release.

Overall, worth buying if you love the series.

Good series, but transfer quality is shocking

The series picks up from where V the final battle ended and continues the struggle of the resistance vs the visitors. There are some good stories in the mix, but it wasn't up to the standard of the original.

Disappointingly, the transfer is really bad - it looks like a home coversion from VHS, nothing has been done to clean the image, leaving a grainy, scratched and noisey picture.

If you can get over that though, it makes for a good sci-fi.

 It's about Time!

This series of "V" (after the original miniseries and sequel miniseries "The Final Battle") has been available on Region 1 DVD for over a year! Although it lacks the power and tension of it's earlier series, this weekly 45- minute-per-episode run is still hugely entertaining, and fans will surely lap it up. No extras, but a fabulous companion piece. Roll on "The Next Generation" series and book .... coming soon!

 Not out of this world!

Let me just say i am a huge V fan and series 1 and 2 were awesome. But what happened to series 3. The drop in quality is obvious to see. There are so many things wrong with it there wouldn't enough room to list them all here.It was so boring. Why do film makers always mess things up when they have something so brilliant. The two stars are for having Donovan and Parrish in it, they are about the only two good things about it. It is cheap looking and poorly written with things happening for no reason. If you must buy this get it as part of the all in one boxset. That way at least you can see the first two. The dvd picture and sound quality is rank aswell.
