Boy, have we got a vacation for you...

Peter Martin (Richard Benjamin) and John Blane (James Brolin) are two businessmen enjoying the ultimate frontier excursion. But when a programming error causes the town's "residents" to turn deadly, the two must square off against a strong-willed, steely-eyed, automated gunslinger (Yul Brynner) who's determined to bring their vacation to a murderous conclusion...

Very disappointed that this appears to be the fullscreen version they're releasing, and not widescreen. That's why I've only awarded 4 stars. But, at least it's actually going to be on DVD, and not a moment too soon.

"It may not look like much, but we have everything here".

Michael Crichton's 1973 sci-fi western thriller was way ahead of it's time. The films influences can be seen in The Terminator and Crichton's other killer theme park movie Jurassic Park. Although now almost nealy 40 years old the movie has lost none of it's charm. Brinner still is as menacing now as he was in 1973 as the Rogue robot Gunslinger, and a young James Brolin looks identical to Christian Bale. The film is a real pleasure to watch and is still a great fantasy, now with Hollywood remaking everything this would be a perfect time to remake this film, as now the technology is available to bring this film to a new audiance.
What stops the disc getting the full 5 stars is the lack on extra features, only a lousy trailer, but seeing you can buy the making of Westworld seperatly, this only adds insult to injury.
This film truly deserves a special edition.

This Is One Of The Best Western Movies, I Am Not A Big Fan Of Other Western Movies But There Is Just Something Good About This Movie. I Am So Relived That It Is Coming Out Here, I Just Hope They Don't Trash The Idea Making This DVD. I Love the Soundtrack By Fred Karlin (Allot Of Dramatic Western Style Music). Overall The Movie Is Brilliant, I Would Recommend This Movie To Any Western Fans (Don't Worry Its Not Got Any Really Crazy Sci-Fi Stuff In It). And Another Thing ''You're Move''.
