A troubled loner and intent on killing his colleagues and himself, Bob Maconel is easy to dislike. As he plans to put a revolver to his head and the heads of those around him he drops the bullet. While on the floor searching for it someone else in despair of life with the same plan beats him to it. As he emerges a hero he discovers the one colleague he actually liked was severely wounded. Through her company can he discover pleasure in life or is he destined to live a life of despair?

The entire film hangs on slaters performance, and you will not be disapointed. An amazing performance from Slater, Cuthbert is not too bad either! The tension in the film is built up superbly, as the intial "improvements" in Slater's life begin to spiral out of control. Some quirky visual effects give the film an original feel, as you delve into the mind of Bob Maconel, and witness his allientation from society.

After all the years that Slater has been around, i cant realy remember too many "great" performances, other than an early one in The Name of the Rose with Sean Connery.
I was imediately gobsmacked with Slaters transformation and acting class in this movie.

Although its a character driven movie, made on a small budget, its a realy realy well made film. Slaters performance alone drives this film on and on as we watch a man tormented by the world he longs to be a part of and eternally hates.

Out of all the movies ive seen over the last 12 months, this realy left a mark on me, a movie which makes you think and not just watch...

For me its proof you dont need a huge budget, special effects and a massive story line to create a cinema classic....

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars A Good little Independant type film.

This film is a 100 percent the Straight to dvd type of movie"except it did get a limited cinema release. Its a Low-ish Budget character peice with First Rate Actors,Christian slater,Elisha cuthbert and William H Macy, its Very Stylised with a Few Visually Cool scenes, and Fans of Slater will Relish the Chance to see him doing something different Playing a Down trodden Looser type Guy with Homicide on the Brain"& a bunch of Talking Fish"Egging him on.The films great as a Weird little Character Study"People who like Slightly trippy films like that should be more than Satisfied, and everyone involved give good performances and its well written"File under kinda cool quirky Character Peice"With Extra lashings of Visual Flair.
