Separate from the government, outside the police, beyond the United Nations: Torchwood sets its own rules.

With fearsome new aliens, compelling new storylines, and amazing guest stars the second series will take the close-knit Torchwood team through dare-devil action, temptation, heartache... and a life changing event for one of the team.

The high-octane new episodes take Torchwood on journeys to the 51st Century and World War I. The team battle a rogue Time Agent, investigate alien sleeper cells, save a stranded creature from horrific abuse, and come face to face with an entity that may well be Death itself.

Joined for three episodes by Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones in Doctor Who) and with guest appearances from Richard Briers (Monarch of the Glen, The Good Life), Alan Dale (Ugly Betty, The OC), and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville) Captain Jack will have his work cut out as the stakes get higher and his team are stretched further than ever before.

 Great Programme

Love Torchwood. One of the best programmes on BBC. Shame Play cannot keep their promises. I am sure I am not the only one who ordered this at £14.99 only to be told that Play were unable to provide it at that price. I would have thought that Play would have to honour that price as they advertised at that.

 Better until the end.

After the first series started off pretty badly and then managed to pull off an interesting finale, the second series seems to be in reverse. A lot of the stand-alone episodes are quite good, but the last few stories sacrifice thrills in an attempt to build towards an exciting climax that turns out to be a damp squib. Also, killing off all the characters played by people who can act doesn't bode well for series 3.

great series - shame on Play

A fantastic second series..with superb performances from all concerned..and what an ending! Shame on Play for not fulfilling their obligations..I ordered at 14.99 and was gutted when they cancelled the order. I too think they should honour their advertised price.

 Absolutly fantastic!

Series 2 of Torchwood is even better than the first. this series came around at the right time even though we had to wait a whole year for it to come back and it was well worth the wait. the acting is brilliant and the storylines much better. There are few suprises thoughout the series including martha jones AKA Freema Agyeman appearing in three episodes, Ianto with a hockey stick (don't ask! ) and a very emotional ending to the whole series. if you have not seen it yet then it is well worth watching. Torchwood will also be back for another series on BBC One next year.

 Absolutely Amazing!

Torchwood is the best programme ever!!!
You must get this if you've seen it before or not!
Eve Myles is excellent in it. Don't watch the last episode though, it makes you cry...
