Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu), who works as a small-time courier for a big-time gangster, is in huge trouble. He has accidentally left the cash from a mob deal on the subway, and he has only twenty minutes to deliver the 100,000 marks to his unforgiving boss.
Desperate, he calls his girlfriend, Lola (Franka Potente), the only person who can rescue him from certain death.
As the seconds tick away and the tiniest choices become life altering, Lola must try to reach Manni before the line between fate and fortune begins to blur. One story told from three different perspectives, 'Run Lola Run' is a veritable maze of intriguing plot twists and heart-stopping suspense in a high-octane thrill ride about one woman's desperate attempt to save her lover.

The concept is unique, the acting is great and the cinematography is superb. The story is fast-paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It leaves you constantly wondering what will happen next.
Also, the movie for me had a profound effect. I came away from it wondering how much my life affects those around me.
The cinematography is amazing as well. The strange angles, the constant motion, the seamless transitions from one object to another, and the occasional integration of animation all serve to further draw you in to the magic and intensity of the film.
Finally, the pounding techno soundtrack and voice-overs add to the mystique of the film and serve to help move it along at it's heart-pounding pace.

First watched this in class, and was horrified to find it wasnt english. But by the end of the movie I couldnt wait to watch it again. The storyline is excellent and way the story changes 3 times adds to how much you want her to acheive. I defently recomend this film to anyone that doesnt mind reading subtitles or to anyone who has never watched a film in subtitles before.

This is one of my favorite movies, and was a relief and a surprising discovery when I bought it for full price when it first came out, having never seen it. It is german, cool, with a non-linear story line that demands your attention all the way through. I think most people are turned off by the cover...
This first switched me on to Franka Potente (Creep, Bourne Identity) and Moritz Bleibtreu (check out Das Experiment also). High class, inventive film-making for you to own at a budget price.
