He's the star of the show, but he doesn't know. Jim Carrey wowed critics and audiences alike as unwitting Truman Burbank in this marvel of a movie from director Peter Weir about a man whose life is a non-stop TV show.

Truman doesn't realise that his quaint hometown is a giant studio set run by a visionary producer/director/creator (Ed Harris), that folks living and working there are Hollywood actors, that even his incessantly bubbly wife is a contract player. Gradually, Truman gets wise. And what he does about his discovery will have you laughing, crying and cheering like few film stories ever have.

 Plain Boring

I have tried watching this film several times. The plot isn't too great. The beginning goes on about an hour too long. I got so bored everytime I put another film in. This is a truly bad film. It's not even funny. Don't buy.

 Best story line ever

This film in my opinion has one of the best story lines to a film ever.
It's an un-realistic story yet made so realistic in the film and leaves you no questions left to ask.
The acting's good although I generally hate Jim Carey, and it has a great ending.
Fantastic film

 Mind blowing

Jim Carrey takes a break from his typical humour and produces one of the most profound films of all time. The subtelties throughout the film are clever and numerous, meaning each time I rewatch the film I find another method by which Truman is kept in his 'perfect prison'. An absolute must-see, even if it induces slight paranoia!
