Pretty much everything that could have gone right with this film has done. Fraser puts in a good performance, displaying the quality of acting he usually reserves for his more serious fair instead of his Mummy 3 sleepwalking. The 3D works well, and for a film that is essentially nonsense a lot of the "science" is actually fairly accurate. The monsters are effective and it almost manages to be as good as the first two Jurassic Parks. My only criticism is that it's slightly too much of a kids movie, but then it is a 3D dinosaur film so you can hardly expect The Bourne Ultimatum. It's definitely the best 3D movie I'm aware of.
Acording to DVDTimes, the DVD is coming out as a 2 disc set which includes both regualr and 3D versions of the film. The set also includes 2 pairs of 3D glasses.
This film was great to watch with my two boys aged 5 and 6, the film was action packed and a great deal of fun, serious critics panned it, it didn't do massive numbers at the box office, but it should find its niche on DVD. The film looks great and is well acted, kids into power rangers, ben 10 etc will love it and offers just enough for the Dad in the room, not quite indy jones but better than tomb raider. There is plenty here for everyone to enjoy.its over quicklly at a heart pumping 89 mins. Fun, entertaining and importantly child friendly.
I took my 4 year old to see this in the cinema yesterday, he absolutely was enthrualled by it. Unlike Wall.e and Clone wars, he just hasn't stopped going on about it after leaving the cinema, it's revitalised his interest in dinosaurs and put the biggest smile on his face.
ISo, if your looking for something for the kids this is the one, good fun all the way through, a real rollercoaster ride.
On a journey to find out what happened to his missing brother, a scientist, his nephew and their guide discover a fantastic lost world in the centre of the earth.
This is a great Saturday afternoon flick, and will keep the kids amused. It's not too scary, although it does have the adults looking at their watches now and then. Special effects are not bad, but the one big downer is that it is by far and away best seen in 3D, so it's not entirely great on DVD, but it's still worth a watch and I have no doubt we will be seeing this one on the TV at Christmas time for years to come.
