Watched this on dvd, it could of been so much better, not what we expected, it was very poor on the special effects infact we even laughed at some of them, and thought the story line was poor they could of put so much more into it, would not watch it again but you can make your own mind up.
This film was great to watch with my two boys aged 5 and 6, the film was action packed and a great deal of fun, serious critics panned it, it didn't do massive numbers at the box office, but it should find its niche on DVD. The film looks great and is well acted, kids into power rangers, ben 10 etc will love it and offers just enough for the Dad in the room, not quite indy jones but better than tomb raider. There is plenty here for everyone to enjoy.its over quicklly at a heart pumping 89 mins. Fun, entertaining and importantly child friendly.
I took the whole family to see this at the cinema this summer. Yes it is highly derivative and steals huge chunks of other films all over the place, but it is a fantastic escape for a couple of hours. My kids ordered the dvd version as soon as we left the cinema. Well now here it is and what do we see? Only 2 pairs of 3d glasses? How is it exactly a family film if the whole family cant sit and watch it in 3d? How pathetic is that? Sure we have umpteen 3d glasses from disney visits and other dvd packages, but you never know if any of them will work.
So much for friday evening movies at home with the kids.
With all the hype about this film, did it prove to be as good as the first one. No. Kids film, yes, many monsters, I don't think so. I did keep awake (just) As good as J park, no way. Better luck next time!
Pretty much everything that could have gone right with this film has done. Fraser puts in a good performance, displaying the quality of acting he usually reserves for his more serious fair instead of his Mummy 3 sleepwalking. The 3D works well, and for a film that is essentially nonsense a lot of the "science" is actually fairly accurate. The monsters are effective and it almost manages to be as good as the first two Jurassic Parks. My only criticism is that it's slightly too much of a kids movie, but then it is a 3D dinosaur film so you can hardly expect The Bourne Ultimatum. It's definitely the best 3D movie I'm aware of.
