'From the cream of Japan's horror elite, Tales of Terror.'

The cream of Japan's horror elite were invited to contribute their short ghost films for a major Japanese television series, Tales of Terror. This double disc set contains the whole collection, amounting to nearly three hours of shock and terror from Japan's rising stars and grandmasters of horror. Contributors include Takashi Shimizu 'The Grudge', Norio Tsuruta 'Ringu O', Hiroshi Takahashi 'Ring 2', Kei Horie 'The Grudge 2'.

The directors have condensed thirty-three of the purest ghost stories into five minutes of terror. Step inside to the world of Japanese ghosts... a place that the living should never see...

 Terror? I Fear Not

Five minutes per story is apparently no-where near enough time to instill fear, but in some cases not even a full film on the chosen subject could "terrorise". Some of them would even pass for spoof.

It's not a complete loss, a couple of the stories are interesting and had they had more time would have been great. The problem is the cover and read up really lead you in to believing this is horrific when a child would probably let it wash over them.

A very easy way to pass the time, but perhaps, too easy.

 Not at all terrifying!

As a big fan of all Japanese horror films such as The Ring trilogy and The Grudge, I was very disappointed with these stories. Only a couple of them had any terror content in them at all - most were soppy tales of woe! Definitely do not bother with this unless you are EXTREMELY easy to scare as the stories probably wouldn't scare a 5 year old!
