The year 2000, Cambridge University, Dr Joshua Mathers' state-of-the-art virtual reality suit is being linked to the world's biggest super computer, the Z93. Local programmer, and occult obsessive Victor Neumann has been secretly uploading all of late Edwardian magician Aleister Crowley's black magic ceremonies into the Z93 in binary form, with the intention of fusing science and magic with the help of his accomplice, the stuttering Classics lecturer Dr Oliver Haddo. Haddo enters the suit without realising that Mathers has made it 'intelligent' by adding a random chaos equation into the mix and the result is his transformation into Crowley himself. In order to reinstate his place on Earth he must perform the ultimate occult ritual, the Chemical Wedding within 3 days...

Da Vinci Code for the dark side

For those of us that have screeeeamed along to Iron Maiden's lyrics for the past few decades comes a sci-fi occult movie, penned by Bruce Dickinson himself.
Callow is excellent as "The Beast", and the supporting British cast do a decent job too for a low budget movie.
OSCAR winning it ain't, but for people like me who have often been fascinated by Bruce's own understanding of all things on the dark side, this is worth a watch.
So forget Hanks and Jesus, this one is for Bruce and the Devil!

 watch it...

Im a solid bruce dickinson/maiden fan...and knew this wouldnt dissapoint in any means.
What a great film...a few surreal moments in there too.
And simon callow played the part well.

 Why all the bad press?

The 18 rating should warn you about the content. Sex, nudity, sex, drugs, sex, blood, sex, language, sex. But it is a good film. Having read the book as well, the combination of both worked well for me. Bruce cameos twice, which made me laugh. for a low-budget film it is entertaining, a couple of minor actors who I didn't think were well cast but the main characters were all good. Overall, Maiden fan or not, if you like your science, magic and sex all rolled into one, I can reccomend this.

 Do not waste your money

Looked like a fun film with a bit of sci-fi twisted in but turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. If your looking to throw away your hard earnings then it's a bargain.

 Let down..

A great idea for a film, but a big let down.... Crowley was not really put across right and most of the acting was awful.

Bruce should stick to heavy metal music... he should have given this idea to some Pro's and someone who is more clued up on the occult and stuff, shame, great idea.
