The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas

The boy in the striped pyjamas,well what can i say....I have a big heart & this film broke every piece of it.I was still thinking of it & sobbing hours after.It is great to see a WWII film through the eyes of a child but its also alot heavier on the heart.It makes you sick to the stomach thinking what these poor people went through for no reason at all,but it also shows that not everyone knew what was going on & those who did know,not everyone liked it.But they didnt do anything to stop it.The friendship between the two boys is so naive & sweet,I wanted to reach into the tv & hold Schmaul.I was not expecting the ending & when the 2 boys held hands my flood gates fully opened!!Its hard to believe people are so evil,I think we all know what went on in them camps but to see it happening to children its that much harder to accept.Being only 22 myself its weird saying this,but kids really dont know they are born these days.A must see for everyone.A film that will stay with you long after the credits......

I took my twelve year old daughter to see this film not knowing what to expect. She was a little dubious too given her age and normal expectations from a film. We both sat through the etire film in complete silence. All of the performances were top notch and the two young boys truly projected an air of innocence that captivates the viewer. many times throughout the film I would gasp to myself and say "Oh no!" and this was never more evident as with the ending - so poignant and thought provoking. The auditorium was in complete silence as the credits rolled up and many were in tears. As for my daughter it provoked many questions and a desire to se the film again. A must have for all lovers of good quality cinema and story telling especially one as dark as this.

I watched this and the only reason I did not give it a 5 star was because of the main actor David Thewlis, he is not a German, he is not a baddy, he does not even look the part, who picked him out and why. It would have worked just as well putting Rowan Atkinson as the Camp Comander, I think not

Watching the film I found it engrossing and I was anticipating what the end was going to be, wrong wrong wrong, how wrong I was, it was harrowing and thought provoking. I had chills down my spine at the end.

I know that it happened during WWII, I just don't know how it was allowed to happen by so many Countries!!!!!

Worth a watch, don't be put off by the few that left bad or crap feedback.

A movie about childhood, friendship and innocence that strikes me as one of the most heartwarming stories I've ever seen. It brings me deeply sad memories of my visit to Auschwitz, in 1991, but it's also a wise reminder that all nazis were not horrible, especially those who weren't aware of what 'The Final Solution' really was.

I thought this film was stunning to watch and really makes you think. I haven't read the book but after seeing the film i definately want to. It's a very sad film and the ending shocked me because of the matter of fact way they went about it. When the credits came down i was stunned. 10/10, i would highly recommend it.
