Adapted from the classic 1920's story by F. Scott Fitzgerald The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button stars Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button - a man born in his eighties who ages backwards!

The film follows Benjamin's story, set in New Orleans, from the end of World War I in 1918, into the twenty-first century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Tilda Swinton, Taraji P. Henson, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, "Benjamin Button," is a time traveler's tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

This film was alot better than I thought it would have been. David Fincher does an incredible job of directing the film while Brad Pitt carries the film on his shoulders, playing Benjamin Button. The film is like a fairytale,it has its magical moments and very funny and touching scenes. Pitt is excellent, Cate Blanchett gives a firm performance as Buttons' love interest Daisy. For me however the greatest performance is from Taraji P Henson who plays Queenie,Benjamins' mother so to speak.
The film is quite long, however you enjoy it so much that the hours just fly by. 9/10

A story about love and death

Benjamin Button is a very slow-starting film, but once the foundations of his life are set, the story becomes more rapid and dramatic. Brad Pitt plays one of his most sensitive roles as the young, but old Benjamin Button to great effect with fantastic cosmetics. Cate Blanchett is also brilliant as his true love, in which they keep meeting each other at different stages in their life, very much like the characters in Forrest Gump, there can be alot of comparisons drawn to it. However, Benjamin Button is different as it portrays the sadness of death, and it is a very emotional moments, like the old Cate Blanchett cradling a baby Benjamin to death in her arms. But there are beautiful moments where the characters meet together in their life line at the same age, staring in the mirror. As the film ages on with Daisy (Blanchett), Benjamin grows younger, but it draws on a bit too long in the end. This is one of David Fincher's most sensitive films but to fully understand it, you need to not nod off too soon.

I had heard lots of good things about this film before watching it and held out high hopes for it.
The film itself is good its very watchable but i didnt think it was oscar winning the acting is very good the story is also very good and original with Pitt being born old and working backwards but you just get the feeling the film is produced to win awards and nothing else.
It is a novel concept and very well acted but i just never saw what all the fuss was about dont get me wrong i enjoyed it but you just know from the start its never going to be a happy ending and the whole film leaves you feeling a little bit depressed at the end well worth a watch but at 2 hours 40 minutes it is a long slog.

 EMOTIONAL AND OUTSTANDING

I loved this film, ive literally just finished watching it and really wanted to get my thoughts down on paper as it were. I love long films, i love tales of peoples lives, the twist in this story is that the main character is born old and gets younger. Its an excellent twist which works really well. I was griped from start to finish. And at the end i had more than one tear in my eyes can tell you.

It makes you think about life, love, your own mortallity, things you have done in your life, things you haven`t done yet, all the things you want to do and regretting the oppertunities you passed up.

Its a rollercoater of emotions, and i thouroughly recommend it to anyone.
