From Platinum Dunes and director Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) comes a re-imagining of the classic horror film Friday the 13th.

Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has, with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying spectres in American film history-the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

 Brilliant Re-Imagining

I went in to view this film and was extremely sceptical- remakes are very rarely worth the watch. But from the pre credit scene I was hooked. Gorey, graphic and visually intense, with a little insight into Jason- he is easily one of my favorite horror movie characters and in this film he does not let anyone down. Although full of the cliches that make this kinds of film- such as the not so witty on liners before they fight back- With some really rather gruesome death scene's and suspense that could give you a heart attack I would definately recommend this to everyone- my one warning would be- Watch out for the dogs!

 Complete let-down

HARDCORE? you must be kiding me, this film was so cut away half the time that you didn't even get to see the good stuff. There were so many mistakes that even a five year old could have noticed, its by far one of the worst remakes ever, the cast ok, the acting was average, the deaths were bad, the plot was rubbish and possibly the only good thing bout the movie is the new look of Jason played by Derek Mears.
I was hoping so much more from this movie that when it ended I felt as a hardcore Friday the 13th series fan that this new film was a complete let-down.

For a hardcore fan of the original movies.. I found this one to be nothing special... a bit rushed at the beginning though.
Alot of people think Jason didn't run and set traps in the originals.. well he did on parts 2 - 4.
This film was really boring, I advise you to watch the originals first they are alot better and fun!

 Friday 13th excellent re imagining

I love the original Friday 13th and the rest Jason is a legend. I am a Supernatural fan so I went to see this at the cinema. I was not dissapointed it was gory, jumpy and comical I'll look forward to watching the dvd. Only thing is watching Jared Padalecki in anything else as with Jensen Ackles in My Bloody Valentine it's like watching 'Sam and Dean' undervcover on a lone case. Well worth a watch though and highly recommended.

 A day to remember

Iam a huge fan of jason and would just like to say this is gonna be freakin sweet. Yes some of the sequels were abit hit and miss but there all still awesome cos jasons in them. Bring on the bloodshed
