A remake of the 1981 classic horror film, My Bloody Valentine stars Jensen Ackles and Jaime King and is directed by Patrick Lussier (The Eye).

Ten years ago, a tragedy changed the town of Harmony forever. Tom Hanniger, an inexperienced coal miner, caused an accident in the tunnels that trapped and killed five men and sent the only survivor, Harry Warden, into a permanent coma. But Harry Warden wanted revenge. Exactly one year later, on Valentine's Day, he woke up...and brutally murdered twenty-two people with a pickaxe before being killed.

Ten years later, Tom Hanniger returns to Harmony on Valentine's Day, still haunted by the deaths he caused. Struggling to make amends with his past, he grapples with unresolved feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Sarah, who is now married to his best friend, Axel, the town sheriff. But tonight, after years of peace, something from Harmony's dark past has returned. Wearing a miner's mask and armed with a pickaxe, an unstoppable killer is on the loose. And as his footsteps come ever closer, Tom, Sarah and Axel realize in terror that it just might be Harry Warden who's come back to claim them...

If you love a really good horror flick then this one certainly hits the spot, probably one of the best remakes ever! all the key elements of a good popcorn horror are there, tons of blood, and gore, and naked scenes! the story is pretty straight forward but is a bit more original than most slasher films as its mainly set down a mine and the killer goes around in a gas mask with a pickaxe! the deaths are well done and there is alot of them, and most of them are gleefully painfull. this film is well worth getting! make sure you watch the normal 2d disc though, the 3d version is a waste of time as its just a dull strain on the eyes! 3d never really works very well with any dvd.

 Good enough for me!

I personally thought this film was brilliant. People are going on about how bad the disc 3d is from the RealD at the cinema. Yes it is different, but it is still damn good! It is not only the out the screen in your face 3D that makes this movie, but the DEPTH of the film. You definitely get a feeling of depth from the film, as if you could put your hand deep in the scene, even in the parts that are not meant to freak you out. A murderous coal miner might not float your boat, but the costume was simple enough to be chilling. Ackles makes the most of a relatively poor script, and does it with his usual lovely charm. There is one line he delivers badly, but who knows what was going off camera at the time that part was filmed. The naked lady, well kudos to her! Nudity always seems pointless and awkward, but this lass pulled it off and then some! The storyline is along the usual horror flick line, there isn't much new in this film. But it is fresh and quirky, funny and enjoyable. I am not a big horror fan, but I was talked into seeing this one at the cinema and I am damn glad I did. Having also seen it on disc, I prefer the cinema take, but the disc version is good enough for me! Ackles in 3D, what more do I need!

 Good remake...

Considering the orginal movie is not so good this movie didnt really have to compete with anything even though its a remake.
The film has a good cast to support the it, a great opening and a healthy dose of violence and gore to keep horror fans entertained, its not the best film in the world but its enough to satisfy the taste for blood, the climax is pretty poor as is the 3-D.
If your buying this soley for the 3-D experience then dont bother, there is only one notable scene with a pick-axe thrown at the screen that is worth talking about, should have seen it in the cinema for the 3-D.
Overall its a good enjoyable movie with some memorable moments but stick to the 2-D version.

 3D ok, film bad

I hate to say this as I'm a big fan of the gorgeous Mr Ackles but the film was terrible. The acting wasn't brilliant and the story was predictable as with these types of movies (so I suppose you can't really hold that against it!). I went to see this at the cinema and I'm not sure if this was because I was sitting to the side of the screen but sometimes the whole of the picture was fuzzy - so 2D didn't even work! Buy for the novelty of 3D but be warned, it will soon wear off!

 waste of time!!

..That was the worst horror movie ever!!
Beginning (with 3d glasses) is interesting, but when the movie starts - it's a disaster! Acting is sooo bad! ..And it is not even scary - they just showing blood, brains and other internal organs - what's the point??

Honestly - there is so many other good horror movies you can chose from! Even if it would be for free - it's a waste of time! :|
