Yann Samuell's remake of the Korean romantic-comedy stars Jess Bradford as the shy and respectable Charlie, a nice Midwestern boy who has moved to New York to study. His dull, predictable life get turned upside down after a chance meeting with the beautiful but crazy Jordan, played by Elisha Cuthbert, who he saves the life of. His carefully planned out life is jeopardised by her crazy behaviour, and so he must decide what to do... to follow his head or heart?

 Funny, weird and surprisingly good

My Sassy Girl is a film with flaws, a film that suffers from trying hard to soften a story that needs to be told more strongly but is also a film with a great deal of charm. The first half hour sets up the story but the remainder reveals the reason for what you have seen earlier on. Jesse Bradford and Elisha Cuthbert are wonderful leads but one of the good things about this film is the way that it balances drama, comedy scenes and moments of joy to make up the finished article.
The plot centres on a boy meets girl who seems rather space-ey but we don't know why. The film looks at their developing relationship and the way they handle tensions between what they want for their lives and what they want now. There's a great deal of heart and soul to this film and it is a pleasantly spent hour and a half.
It is a bit more polished than a film with this story should be but you cannot fault it for wanting to look good and not delve too deeply into 'issues'. It's funny but has a story that some might find it hard to get a handle on.

Dont let the bad reviews put you off if your into lighthearted, good fun easy to watch chick flicks this is brill. It certainly kept a smile on my face anyway. I loved the chemistry between both main actors & was rooting for things to work out between them all the way through. Opposites certainly attract I reckon.

 Calm down!

Ok, i have not seen the original 1997 movie. I didn't know this was a remake untill after i saw this film. I love asian cinema so will be looking it up but, on it's own merrit i thought this was a really nice well acted film and would recomend it. The girl i thought was was wonderfull in the role, don't be put off it's well worth a watch.

this has to be one of the worst american remakes of a korean film in recent times.
all the main plot points are there but there is no heart and soul to the film,if you can track down the korean version you will not be let down

Elisha Cuthbert failed to sell herself in this. After watching the original i felt somewhat embarrassed for the production of this. Supposedly the remake is meant to portray the original which is amusing, this version failed to raise a smile until my DVD ejected the disk.
