Engage! Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his Next Generation crew are back and so is the excitement and fun, in this the ninth feature film of the Star Trek series.

From the beginning of the Federation, the Prime Directive was clear: No Starfleet expedition may interfere with the natural development of other civilizations. But now Picard is confronted with orders that undermine that decree. If he obeys, 600 peaceful residents of Ba'kul will be forcibly removed from their remarkable world, all for the reportedly greater good of millions who will benefit from Ba'kul's Fountain Of Youth-like powers. If he disobeys, he will risk his Starship, his career and his life. But for Picard there's really only one choice. He must rebel against Starfleet... and lead the insurrection to preserve Paradise.

This film is always going to be great. As a story it is amazing and luckily, it has talented and gifted actors within, playing interesting parts as well as the well-known ones. The structure and plot blew me away when I saw it in the cinema all those years ago, and just like The Wrath of Khan, I can watch this again and again and never stop loving it.

Not the best of the star trek next gen movies but still a valliant effort and good film. Johnathan Frakes does a good job directing in this movie with great support from his original next gen cast. Liked the storyline and once again great visual effects from the crew as per usual. Recommended hence 4 stars !!!!

When initially released this film was accused of being another episode from the TV series, lacking real substance for the cinema screens. Time has made it a classic test bench of AV equipment, with its beautiful scenery and moving music. But not only that, in my modest opinion it also has proven that it is the best of the films made by the Next Generation crew. It is the only one I have watched repeatedly without tiring me. It soothes the soul and it doesn't strain the eyes. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
