Review

Following SG-1 and The Ark of Truth, Stargate: Continuum is the latest chapter in this incredible series. The venerable Richard Dean Anderson returns to the fold, whilst the late Don S. Davis makes his final appearance as General George Hammond. Spectacular sci-fi at its best!

While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the Goa'uld System Lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, hundreds of Goa'uld motherships arrive in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal'c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa'uld.

I can understand why many fans were dissapointed by this film o its initial release. The trailers made it out to be a full blown action extravaganza! But if you look past this then you will see that this is an amazing character piece film. It explores the characters and there situation deeply and still gives hefty doses of action. Ba'al steals the show here as the main villain. My only complaint with this film is the ususal RESET BUTTON ending of most parralel universe stories. Non the less, a solid film.

All-in-All, Stargate Continuum is a good try but as it swings to show MGM and FOX what a theatrical debut would look like, but instead deliver something that would have made a great 2-Part Episode.

I Know some people would disagree, I would say "The Ark of Truth" would have made a Better theatrical movie (of course you would have had to seen at least 10 Episodes of STARGATE SG-1's Last 2 Seasons...

I Hope the Third SG-1 Movie, and the upcoming SGA continuation (Currently entitled: STARGATE: PROJECT TWILIGHT) will be breathtaking, but this is good for enjoying a time-travel story, unless you don't want to get confused easily...

The plot line was okay and there were some great scenes and funny clips but it was not up to the usual stargate standard and i found it a little dissappionting after the ark of truth.
