As an avid fan of the original film, I bought this for my mother. Unfortunatly, as she is deaf and there is no subtitles, it was a wasted present. Also, the heading says "Complete 6 hour version" but the specs below it says the duration is 4 hours 39 minutes. One must be waaay wrong.

I say really original as although of course it is a modern remake of the Wizard of Oz it is done so perfectly as to be able to stand apart on its own. I loved watching this and was so sad that it finished I want a second miniseries! All the characters were wonderful and there are many new twsts to the story to keep it fresh and different from the old classic. Truly remarkable. Thouroughly recommended.

Absolutely loved the original wizard of oz, and a modern retelling with the history of wizard of oz behind it and i was in heaven! Can't even say its a retelling - just Oz a few generations later.
The characters while sticking with a lack of courage, lack of a heart and a lack of a brain were unusual to say the least, but very memorable!
Watched it awhile ago with my children, and been checking every so often as to if it was being released! My children jumped around the room, when i told them. They all loved it!!

Follow the yellow brick road or what's left of it - and buy this!
