REC (Single Disc)

Albeit a much used theme in movies like 28 days later, this movie fully utilizes the sheer horror such a situation could create: bloody, brutal, and with an atmosphere and characters so real you can barely distinguish your reality from the film's by the end. A brilliant movie whether you're a fan of horror or not, you get a real rush from watching it and can't help screaming 'stamp on her head!' in total fear.

Loved the acting techniques in this movie - very edgy - easliy outshines Quarantine! The pace was electrifying throughout and I thought the make-up was great. Its always refreshing to see movies in different locations - the Spanish angle to this was interesting and fresh. I'd recommend it to all horror fans!

I dont usually go for horrors at all when picking films for my collection as they are usualy cheesy, annoying and obvious. But when i read a short review in The Suns SFTW about a new spanish horror that they gave 5 stars, to say the least I was intrigued.
Time had passed and i missed it in the cinema but it never left my mind so when it was released on DVD i just had to get my hands on a copy.
I wont go into detail of the story beause it will just ruin the surprises but to cut things short my girlfriend could not watch once the action started(very big recomendation if any), very convincing story and action for a horror film, probably the best i have seen for a long time.Acting was bob on and had me convinced it was a real news report which made me even more gripped.
There are only a few scares along the way but when they come they come, and one even had me screaming like a little girl haha!

I know there is an American remake(yep you knew it wouldnt be far behind) but from what i heard they have killed it like they did with the Ring so please dont watch that one before this!
Subtitles are really not a problem for me and shouldnt be for you, even if you try to avoid them when purchasing movies please dont let this put you off watching this masterpiece of independent cinema.

Rec is one of the most original horror movies ever made! A very unique style of direction that in some movies in the past does not work but Rec nails it perfect, the movie has a brilliant story that unfolds throughout, turning from an innocent documentary into a hellish nightmare or horror thats truly scary and unsettling! Theres plenty of blood and carnage and screaming and has a good cast that are all very convincing!! This is a must buy at any cost especially this bargain price!!

Now when i first looked at the case i thought "hmmm..... looks intersting" and im sure many of you have too but don't let the simply title and DVD case fool you it is by far the best zombie horror film ive seen, i saw it at my college during a media lesson and it was amazing, several of my class looked away in fear at the scary moments and leaped out of their seats in the jumpy bits! it keeps you guessing throughout the whole film. Now i highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good zombie Horror cos it is by far my favourite. it will keep you cowardly hiding behind your hands and leaping out of your seats. 10/10. Also if you loved the film as much as i did i recommend you BUY REC 2 as it is really good too :) and will answer those questions which are left in REC!
