Angela is a tv reporter she and Pablo (camera man) are on a mission to film a fire crew while they work their shift through the night for a show called, While You Are Asleep. The fire crew are called out to attend to an elderly lady who seems to be in some kind of trouble. Pablo cannot turn off the camera he wants to finish the job. Angela is intent on doing her tv work no matter how scared she is. Something or someone is trying their utmost to prevent them from doing so, something evil. Can it be stopped? A lip biting movie.

The movie is in Spanish with English subtitles.

  a modern horror classic.

Lets be honest here, good (i.e. scary) horror films are a very rare breed these days, so to see something as scary as this is a bit of a shock to the system!. It has subtitles, yes, and yes, as i have mentioned in some of my other reviews of foreign films, it isnt that hard to watch a film with them. But in this case, being a very visual, and visceral experience, it really shouldnt put you off at all. This could well be the scariest film you have ever seen, so if you call yourself a horror fan, what are you waiting for?. Its currently less than 3 quid!. By the way, the follow up, rec 2, is almost as good, and carries on from pretty much where this ends....... Go on, you know you want to!.

  Amazing

Awesome film, ive watched it several times cant get over how real it seems. Even though it is Spanish which would normally make people think twice i would without a doubt recommend it to anyone and everyone who likes zombies or horrors. this is the movie that inspired quarantine the US version so to speak and in my view this is 10000000 times better. *With so many bad horror films being made it is extremely refreshing when a standout film like the Spanish 'REC' comes along.
*A film crew are making a documentary with the Fire Brigade. They are called to an apartment block thats become contaminated and what turns out be a regular callout takes a turn for the worst!
*REC is shot in a similar way to Blair Witch with a slight Zombie / Exorcist twist. REC is a film that really draws you in and it becomes very scary with lots of Jumpy Moments. One of the better Horrors from recent years and a great film for Halloween.

For a subtitled film i was expecting the same guff everyone else seems to have been waiting for.however what you get is a totally different experience.from the offset you are drawn into the TV as if you are joining the TV crew on their journey into this infected apartment block.theres the odd wrong turn then wham the action starts.there is something warm about the main female lead part that says its ok come with me lets have a look round together.she belongs on breakfast TV for me someone you can wake up to before work.i digress.the film has a well knitted feel to it so you dont lose track of where you are supposed to be punctuated with BOO! moments but it does pose a couple of questions at the end.there are moments in the film where you cant help yourself with the cliches but it is by far and away the best horror film of the last few years.think of it as Blair Witch Project with zombies but about a million times better.10/10 even if you are not a horror fan.

You'll never look at zombies the same again!

Rec offers fast paced action with quick camera movements and a different take on zombies. Making it an intense thrill-ride, really worth a watch.
