All four of audacious award winning director Lukas Moodysson's feature films are collected on this DVD box set for the first time.
Show Me Love (1998): Both Elin and Agnes yearn for more than their tiny town of Amal can offer. Elin is popular, sexy, but disaffected. Only recently moved, Agnes is the class nerd with few friends. To make matters worse, Agnes' outsider status stems from student chinese whispers claiming she's a lesbian. What's worse still is, those whispers are true.
Having developed a deep crush on Elin, Agnes recieves a surprise invitation to Elin's birthday party, where a friend bets her that she won't kiss Agnes. Elin rises to the challenge sending the clueless Agnes into a spiral of overblown emotions meaning that for the two girls, the mundane edifice of Amal will never be the same again.
Together (2000): 1975, Sweden. Tired of her abusive husband, Elisabeth packs her bags and moves with her children to her brother's commune, 'Together'. As a fairly ordinary housewife from the suburbs, the commune's freewheeling attitudes towards sex and politics will open Elisabeth's eyes and change her family's life forever.
Together is a film about people trying to live together. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's about love and divorce and happiness and unhappiness and children and adults and ABBA and sex and football.
Lilya 4-Eva (2002): A shattering portrayal of sassy, mischevious Lilya's wrenching fight for survival after she is abandoned by her mother. Left to fend for herself, she wards off the daily struggle she faces by immersing herself in a friendship with the young Volodya. With him, she is momentarily able to live the carefree life of a child, as the adult horrors of her poverty-strewn country close in around her....
A Hole In My Heart (2004): Lukas Moodysson's latest film focuses on Rickard and his painfully shy son Eric, who spends most of his days holed up in his room, listening to abrasive industrial music, presumably in an attempt to drown out what's going on in the rest of the apartment... His father, an amateur pornographer, is shooting his latest film and as he and his stars get drunk and more impressed with themselves they lose what little inhibitions they had and their behaviour grows more and more disturbing.
