I was three when this film came out and despite my young age I loved it from the beginning. It had "the girl who looks like me" (Christina Ricci), the "friendly little ghost-boy" (Devon Sawa) and "the funny man out of Monty Python" (Eric Idle) in it. For a little only child it was the perfect film. I was a lonely child and I really sympathised with Casper. When he found Kat it made me, as a viewer, feel a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction and the fact that she could overcome her apprehensions about him being a ghost reassured children everywhere that true friends look past the exterior to see the inner beauty. The addition of the three ghostly uncles and their constant sparring with Kat's dad is a welcome comedic break from the main plot. The screen-writers made a really good job of interlinking all of the many, intricate subplots in a fantastic example of a "film for all the family". I deffinately reccomend you watch this film whether you're a child or a child in the body of an adult. I guarruntee you'll turn off the DVD player with a smile on your face.
