 But why?

Ok look, I can see why people liked the X-men trilogy, if you know nothing about the history of the comics then I guess they could be enjoyable. Personally being a huge X-men fan for a long time I can safely say I thought the trilogy was awful. They literally couldnt have got the story any more wrong than they did. Really they couldnt.

But having said that I was hoping that this was going to be good as I did like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. So I went in to watch this with fingers crossed. Oh my dear god what a pile of bilge. Once again I dont think they could have got it more wrong.
Hugh Jackman was good as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds was spot on as the merc with a mouth (in the first few minutes) but after the opening scene it just went so very wrong. They even managed to make Wolverine seem like a dull character. And how did they come up wth Sabretooth being related to him??? *sigh*
Its a shame cos I liked Liev Shrieber as Sabretooth, he was very feral and did a good job.
The person who cast Taylor Kitsch as Gambit should be lynched, they ruined one of my all time favourite characters. I wont go in to it in detail suffice to say Gambit is supposed to be Cajun and he didnt sound one bit like it.
The whole deal with Blob was just embarrasing they managed to completely ruin Deadpool at the end. Why did they give him all those stupid powers??? It never ceases to amaze me how badly they get the story wrong in X-men films. I could go on and on.

But forgetting that for a sec, the CG was awful. some really bad effects throughout. I almost burst out laughing when he pops his claws in the bathroom. The plot was all over the place not to mention the ending with the adamantium bullets?? Oh god I literally couldnt believe they really put that in.

My advice if you like the comics or know anything about the real story with the X-men is ignore this at all costs it will infuriate you.
Go play the game its actually not half bad. A hell of a lot better than this mockery.
Although if you just want something with a plot that makes no sense and some explosions and people hitting each other then maybe youll like it. Maybe.

 Stick to X-Men 1 and 2

My god. How do they get a person as cool as Wolverine so wrong???
Rubbish script.
Rubbish plot.
Rubbish acting.
Rubbish CGI(The claws in the bathroom looked a joke)
To sum up how bad this film is two words amnesia bullets.

 Great entertaining film

First off , dont listen to Flowerday's review below wolverine was born with bone claws if you know his back story ,obviously Flowerday doesnt know anything about wolverine. So anyways the film is highly entertaining with some great visuals and fills in gaps from the previous x-men films. So I would recommend picking this 1 up if your a fan. You wont be dissapointed!

Now I understand some of the lower ratings of this film, flow of the plot , back stories etc, however those who are comic book fans will already know that characters sometimes have several back stories, deadpool being one with many. As for continuity regarding x-men characters there are many ways in which the x-men movie cast could be brought together. Leaving the why's and wherefores unexplained (why doesnt a character remember wolverine in the original movie, and for that matter why doesn't sabretooth acknowledge wolverine as his 'brother') etc etc etc. I am fully capable of picking plot holes and scientific inaccuracies in many films but have learned from my friends that sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Plus on the girls side we have liev shriber and hugh jackman to look at and thats not a bad thing AT ALL!

If you are a comicbook fan just know, i agree with you the plot screwed over too many characters ... however i will ignore this for the moment

this is a great film too watch, especially if your not comic book bias.
the action scenes are frankly brilliant, not the best, but still good. and i feel the whole movie picks up on the weapon X programme alot more than the older movies did.
Some brilliant casting in this too, Liev, Ryan and Hugh all played there characters amazingly, while the rest of the cast truly held their own in this film.
Wade Wilsons minute of screen time is to be perfectly honest, one of the best action sequence i have ever seen, and i have seen alot of action films (really, i am that sad).
This film does make a lot of mistakes namely overusing the over head canted framing shot making the animal seem emotionally sad ='(
But anyway including the comic book fans in this bit, all the mistakes this film has made will be sorted out in the second wolverine film, and a Deadpool movie is being written.
And don't worry about disney owning marvel now, the films in production at the moment are said to be unaffected by disneys kid friendly side.
Watch this film, if you hate it, wait for the Deadpool movie, if you love it, there are 2 more Origins on the way, goodie
