ECW: Extreme Championship Wrestling redefined professional wrestling in the '90s with a reckless, brutal, death-defying, and often bloody style that came to be known as "hardcore". It attracted a rabid, cult-like following that is still going strong today.

This 6-hour, 2-disc set follows the rise and eventual demise of the company that raised the bar and revolutionised sports-entertainment forever.

I was never a huge fan of ECW, being British it was never shown widespread on TV, so growing up I saw very little of the actual shows. I bought this DVD primarily as a wrestling fan.

I can honestly say it is one of the best wrestling DVDs in existence. If you're expecting a DVD full of matches, don't buy this. It has about 8 bonus matches but is essentially a documentary about wrestling's third biggest company, ECW.

Credit where credit it due, this DVD is produced by WWE, and has interviews from lots of superstars, from WCW, to WWE, to ECW. Guys like Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, Vince Mcmahon, Eric Bischoff, The Dudley Boys, Tazz, Tommy Dreamer, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, RVD, etc. At no point does the WWE slander ECW, which I thought it would do. On the contrary, it shows ECW in a great light, a seriously in-depth documentary on an innovative, controversial company who pretty much influenced the attitude era of WWE.

If you're a wrestling fan, buy this.

This DVD is the best out of all the wrestling DVD's that have been released (even better than the monday night war's DVD). If like me you only know about ECW through the WWE and want to know more about it this is the DVD for you. This DVD takes you all the way from beginning to end and ultimately shows you the rise and fall of ECW. If your expecting all the fireworks and pyro of what ECW has today your in the wrong place, as this is ECW - the land of extreme where anything goes. The creator Paul Heyman introduces each match, showing you how it started in small bingo halls all the way to landing a TV deal and challenging the likes of WWE and WCW for ratings. All your extreme favourites are included, RVD, Dudley Boyz, Rhyno, Raven, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and many more. A DVD well worth watching!
