Lets be honest, there isn't much new here. The idea of repeating the same time scale through a different perspective may bring back flashbacks (no pun intended) of films like Momentum perhaps. But none of that detracts from the fact that this is a highly watchable and enjoyable thriller from Director Pete Travis.
The film is based (as the discription above says) around the same 15 minute sequence of events revolving around the assassination of the US President during summit talks in Spain. However, as the film pans out, as you view each sequence through each of the 8 witnesses perspectives, the plot and twists start to unfold with heart-pumping aplomb.
With a star studded cast such as Dennis Quaid (Day After Tomorrow, Frequency), Matthew Fox (Lost), Forrest Whittaker (Last King Of Scotland, Species), Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Ghostbusters) and William Hurt, I found this too good to miss.
Attracted by the TV advert, I took the other half to the cinema to see it and we were'nt disappointed. Somehow I thought you would become tired of seeing the same time frame over and over but to be honest, you dont. It's compulsive viewing that will have you on the edge of your seat and scratching your head at the same time over all the twists thrown in to keep you interested.
It's good. Not quite 5 star quality but, devoid of a few glitches, it is a worthy addition to most peoples DVD collection who are fans of the action / thriller genre. Enjoy!
