This Spring, the Dead Will Rise!

Nick Cannon, Mena Suvari, and Ving Rhames star in this horror film based on the George A. Romero classic zombie film. A mysterious virus has infected the small town of Leadville, Colorado and the military is brought in to enforce a quarantine and stop the spread of the disease. As people perish, survivors realize that the virus is creating the walking dead who crave human flesh. Only a small number of people are immune to the virus and those few survivors must battle to fend off the infected zombies while trying to make it out of town alive.

Ok, so its no where near as good as the original Day of the Dead. Its very very loosely based on it.
But it entertained me.
I'm a huge zombie movie fan and hate this whole virus thing thats going on in zombie movies nowadays. But here's the key to enjoying this film:

In your own head call it - Resident Evil : Day of the Dead

This is how I got through the film, as a Day of the Dead film, it sucks, but as a Resident Evil film, it would have worked quite well.

Virus: Check

Steve Miner doesn't seem to have pulled it off with this - He re-invented Halloween even before Rob Zombie, but this falls way short. Why is Rhames back, underused badly. Surely there are cheaper extras around - I love Romero, I love Zombie, I love Horror....but somehow this one should have stayed dead................

shouldnt b part of these films

It was a good horror but nothing near the quality of the original movie , they should have made this film with a differant name then i would have enjoyed it more . I have never seen zombies act like vampires before which was strange . Its a fun film to watch but dont expect too much .

 Strange one this movie.....

Based around the 1985 George A Romero classic of the same name, this movie directed by Halloween H20 and Friday the 13th maestro Steve Miner tells of more infection and paranoia with the ever reliable zombies as the main cause. Don`t expect an up to date remake, what we get is a different story with the levels of blood cranked up. Ving Rhames is wasted and doesn`t last half the film, fans of low-mid budget horror will love this movie as there are plenty of cheese, explosions, gore and stunts. Just sit back relax and enjoy a fun, horror movie.

Don't know why this film has so many bad reviews, its not that bad at all. I thouroughly enjoyed it. Few jumps and edge of your seat bits.
The only things that dissapointed me was that alot of the zombie scenes were cgi, plus it was not very gory, fast in some places so you couldnt exactly see what the zombies were doin 2 their victims.
However overall, a good fast action zombie movie! Mena suvari did a fantastic job too!
Buy if a fan of the zombie horror genre! Xxx
