The last desperate fight that changed the course of history.
Five months after D-Day, most American soldiers think the German army is broken. The Germans think otherwise. In an attempt to buy time to fill the skies with their invincible new jets, they launch one fast, furious offensive: the Battle of the Bulge.
For this epic recreation of one of World War II's most crucial confrontations, director Ken Annakin (The Longest Day) captures the explosive action of massive forces squaring off as well as the brave, individual ingenuity of weary GIs trying to survive a cruel European winter.
The cast is a juggernaut of stars: Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas and more. Experience the vast panorama of war in all its intensity - and all its heroism. This digital remastered Director's Cut features an extra 17 minutes of footage never before available outside a cinema!

Number 1 DVD Reviewer
Ken Annakin falls someway short of his magnificent The Longest Day with this Boys Own recreation of the last German offensive in the West. The action flits between the Generals and the grunts as the initially successful German attack gathers momentum.
Two actors stand out in the all-star cast; Telly Savalas as Duffy(a dry run at his role in Kelly's Heroes) and Robert Shaw as the Panzer Colonel tinged with the mania of an unlikely victory.
The film as a whole just doesn't hang together as well as it might, and is an example of a film that plays better in the memory. Still the battle in the snow ultimately gave us the Hoth sequence in The Empire Strikes Back so for that we should be eternally grateful.
Historically inaccurate but hugely enjoyable

The film is great as always and a good addition to any collection, but "The Long Version". I can't see 17 minutes of additional footage compare to the version I say on TV.
Three pieces of music, Overture, Intermission and Exit, are added to recreate that cinema experience. The overture alone was 5:22, but where is the extra action.
Still glad I have it in my collection. :)
