Looking at the preivous reviews this is obviously a love it or hate it film and i'm afraid i hated it. All I can say is after this film ended all I could think was what a waste of 3 hours that i'll never get back. This is a typical americanized historical film where obviously they forgot to do any research. Can't wait for the remark of the bible where they have Jesus as a gun toting maniac set in or a Second World War film where the french are the heros.

Don't waste your time on this film and I beg you don't waste your money.

I just watched the film last night and i have to say it was fantastic. A bit slow at the start but i think it had been researched well and that acting was fantastic. I know there has been mention before about the homosexuality but it did happen in those days exactly is it was shown and it didnt make me feel uncomfortable at all. The acting between Alexander and his long time male lover Hephaistion, the very sexy Jared Leto, was fantastic and when Hephaistion died it was so well done that i shed a tear. I would recommend this film to anyone. Make sure you are sat comfortably though as it is a long film.

Over the years I have bought many films. Some good, some not so, but only one stands out in my mind as a complete and total waste of time and money. This film is inacurrate (the Macedonians aren't now and never were Greeks, and that's the least of the faux pas), lets just say that the American writers had fun, big time, with no respect what so ever to the historical facts. Of course the baddies all speak with English accents but I somehow feel that the Irish accents of the 'goodies' doesn't quiet work. This really is an absolute appauling film. Please, PLEASE, don't waste your money and time watching it. I did and to this day I regreat every penny and second!
