Alexander: Director's Cut (1 Disc)

Out of 700 DVD's this is the only film I have ever returned. I was expecting a great epic along the style of greats such as Gladiator and Braveheart but it did not happen. I could not get into this film and at time's it made me cringe with cheesy acting. I did not enjoy this at all. If you are tempted and expect a great film you won't find it here. I give it two stars due to the price as this is my opinion and others seemed to enjoy it.

Over the years I have bought many films. Some good, some not so, but only one stands out in my mind as a complete and total waste of time and money. This film is inacurrate (the Macedonians aren't now and never were Greeks, and that's the least of the faux pas), lets just say that the American writers had fun, big time, with no respect what so ever to the historical facts. Of course the baddies all speak with English accents but I somehow feel that the Irish accents of the 'goodies' doesn't quiet work. This really is an absolute appauling film. Please, PLEASE, don't waste your money and time watching it. I did and to this day I regreat every penny and second!

Looking at the preivous reviews this is obviously a love it or hate it film and i'm afraid i hated it. All I can say is after this film ended all I could think was what a waste of 3 hours that i'll never get back. This is a typical americanized historical film where obviously they forgot to do any research. Can't wait for the remark of the bible where they have Jesus as a gun toting maniac set in or a Second World War film where the french are the heros.

Don't waste your time on this film and I beg you don't waste your money.

i dont understand why people slate this film. in my opinion its great. colin farrell, angelina jolie and anthony hopkins wouldnt have starred in it otherwise

This film is a hoot. It's not really ment to be funny but with the bizzare accents and the sheer sexual chemistry of Farrell and Leto it's a must.
