165,000 tickets sold, more than four hours of music, and one encore with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin later, Foo Fighters have now immortalized for posterity their biggest ever headline stand: Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium, an 18-song DVD documenting their two sold out Wembley Stadium shows, will be released August 25.

The Wembley concerts, which took place Friday and Saturday June 6 and 7 of this year, sold out within 24 hours, making them the biggest headline performances of the band's illustrious career--as well as the biggest rock shows staged at the new Wembley to date.

Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium is a career-spanning live opus, drawing on all six of Foo Fighters' studio albums, featuring classics "Times Like These," "Everlong," "Monkey Wrench," "All My Life" and "Learn To Fly" as well as new live staples including "Long Road To Ruin."

Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium also includes night two's historic encore, for which Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin joined Grohl and Hawkins for renditions of "Rock and Roll" (with Hawkins on vocals and Grohl on drums) and "Ramble On" (with Grohl on vocals and Hawkins on drums).

Like the Wembley weekend, Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium concludes with a triumphant and highly emotional "Best Of You" with a closing chorus of 85,000 fans leaving Grohl visibly moved.

Good DVD - But where are the extras?

I would like to start off by saying the following to all those who have posted a review without actually seeing and listening to the DVD - shut up. I don't care how much you enjoyed the gig, hated Wembley, how the DVD is 'gonna (sic) be awesome' or how Muse are better, this is a section to review the DVD itself. Rant over.

The attraction of the DVD itself is rightfully the concert, which is done full justice with awesome sound quality and cracking footage of the band. Totally recommended if you were there and looking for a souvenier or even if you weren't. The whole thing is very entertaining.

The only things that have stopped me giving five stars are a couple of songs were left off that were performed on the nights, and the lack of extras is very disappointing. However, still good value for under £9.

 The best of Foo

Dave Grohl and the guys really know how to keep a crowd entertained.

I missed out on tickets and this DVD just rubs it in! What an atmosphere. Well done guys.

 Great live Foos DVD!!

I never seen the Foos at Wembley but this DVD will probably the bestest and closest thing you'll get to being at the gig. Judging by the poor stereo mix I can imagine the sound at Wembley wasn't so great but Dolby Digital mix more than makes up for it.

This is a great Foos gig though, they play all their greatest hits for the audience, they did full throttle versions of "Monkey Wrench" "All My Life" and "Breakout" and it was nice to see them do a few acoustic numbers especially "Marigold" and "Skin and Bones" two favs of mine. The surprise inclusion of Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones was also great to see (the Foos certainly have a fair bit of influence with all the rock gods just now!). Its also worth a watch to see Dave Grohl give a rather emotional performance of "Best of You" at the end (even though its one of my least favourite songs of theirs).

So the Foos Live at Wembley is a great DVD and a must buy DVD if you are a fan of their music, shame there are no extras on the disc but its a still great buy.

Best gig i've ever been to, but 4 songs missing??

OK, i was at Wembley for the Saturday night gig and was totally and utterly blown away. Apart from the Foo's, my 2 favourite bands ever are Queen and Led Zepplin. Last time I saw Foo Fighters, 2 members of Queen made a special appearance, which i thought could never be topped. But Dave Grohl went one better for this, and out came Led Zepplin for the encore! Just the perfect gig, i truly cannot fault it in any way.

Now as such a big fan of this gig, i will undoubtedly get this dvd on release day. Although I do feel a bit let that some songs that were performed are not included! This Is A Call, Let It Die, and most importantly, Big Me (which is the first ever Foo Fighters song i heard and got me into the band years ago!).

Cannot wait to relive the experience again, but this dvd should have included everything from that night.

 Great show, poor dvd

When they did this show my local cinema broardcast the performance in hd and in 5.1 surround. This dvd was such a disappointment, for a start the video quality is terrible, it looks like an old vhs recording and the sound is not too bad but it could be a lot better, it seems they skimmped on the production of this dvd, poor video quality, average sound and... The biggest disappointment of all... No extras what so ever, nothing. Just play concert, chapter selection and audio. The show itself was great hence the 3 stars which is pretty much for the performance alone and i can't know the foo's for that but this dvd could have been so much better. If your a die hard fan then i would probs still buy this but it's not exaclty something to brag about.
